A forum in need

I'm all for the suggestion of whiskey, beer and cigars. That would be a big improvement.:D

My knives have been shown and discussed here for a while now. Its been a good 8 years since I posted any of my stuff on BF, but thats because I never got a membership to post pics.;-) That being said, this has always been a forum where you are going to hear exactly what people think, like it or not.
Dont ask for opinions if your not prepared to hear ALL of them;-)

Right on.

Trace, I'd love to see what you're making these days. It would also be great to have you taking part in the discussions more often. You have a way of getting right to the point that I find refreshing.

Sorry Anthony. You're comment about this forum having been self-moderated left me with the impression that when you posted that the forum was in need of moderation, that you were referring to a need for active moderators. Thanks for clearing that up for me.

Good post Don.

However, there does seem to be some confusion (and debate) over the intent and purpose of this forum,... myself included.

This is just a suggestion,... why not change to name to "Custom and Handmade Knife Collecting"?

Good suggestion. It would make things a bit clearer for folks like me who haven't been on bladeforums very long.

I saw this forum as a place collectors gathered to discuss custom knives when I first joined. It was apparent and I liked it. This is one of the only forums that I know of, where a large number of collectors hang out. Makers have many places to hang out and discuss.........Collectors are people too :D

The traffic here is huge and I've seen knife articles pop up in mags because of discussions that started here first.

I spend more time here than any other forum and feel that all this stuff lately will only make this a better place. Although I don't want to see a big change, it was doing pretty good before all this. Everybody doesn't have to agree all the time.

All we need, are more knife pictures :)

Well thanks Keith, I've been trying to post here a bit more now that I have a hi speed connect. I may break down and get a membership to post pics eventually too.;)

Take care
Trace

There needs to be one moderator here to close all of the threads discussing what is supposed to be discussed here.

I don't post much in here, but am here frequently lurking. Lately there seem to be an absurd number threads arguing about what is ok to post here, and what criticism is, etc... It would be nice to see more actual discussion of handmade and custom knives. Just my .02.
