Creating my own knife was an amazing journey. And for someone who enjoys a challenge as much as I do, I believe I have definitely found this a hobby that I will stick to. I found it incredible how much my knifemaking consumed my thoughts. So much so, that it appeared in my dreams! Cops typically have dreams of a twenty pound trigger pull, I was experiencing dreams of my knife turning into mush, or just melting into nothing. In the end, it all panned out. Thank you so much to Stacy for the pink paracord and to Darrin for the heat treat. I am also very grateful for everyones help and advice along the way.

I really learned a lot with this first knife. I'm hoping my second will be twice as good. This one for now is called "The Recruit". I figured it needed, and deserved, a name. After I get better at the blade making portion, my next goals are to make some scales and also a sheath for it. I would love some constructive criticism from all the talent on the forum. Thanks again!

Thanks Steve! I was planning on doing at least a few more that are very similar with only a few adjustments. After I feel like I have the grinding down on a few blades, I will hopefully move on to a few other designs that I have drawn out. I'm really looking forward to making some of the bigger knives that I have put on paper.

Looking great! Very nice job, looks like you have made a bunch. Great finish on the blade and I really like the way you did the paracord.

Criticism... there is only one, you need to make more! :D

Excellent work! Very nice finish and the paracord wrap looks professional, IMHO. Keep on it, this is definitely an all consuming hobby, isn't it?

Turned out really nice! Way to keep at it and get it done. Can't wait to see more from you:thumbup:

Very impressive first knife Charli. Don't know if you'll carry it as a back up or not, but I
do know what a rush it was to realize that I'd been cooking dinner using only my own knives
for some time now!

I'm looking forward to seeing more of your work.

That is very nice for #10 much less #1. I too like how you used the pink cord. Well done.
