A GEC passaround for you to get acquainted

Well, these are in the mail to NEKO2. They're all in very good condition except the houndstooth which will need to be cleaned when it gets to NEKO2. (I was crying all over it just prior to boxing it up!) LOL

I'll make sure to have a micro fiber towel ready. For that hounds tooth and whatever one I fall in love with:D

Thanks for sharing your reactions to the passaround knives, Randy. I really appreciated your honest and insightful comments.:thumbup:

The eagle has landed!
I'm going to try and carry and use these at work (cutting tape etc) the rest of this week.
I can already see what everyone always raves about fit and finish wise. Now I see the gaps and uneven springs on my current knives ;)

Thanks again for the opportunity to try these out; I promise to give them a comfortable stay.

I had to cut a few quick and dirty templates at work today and while I was looking for an xacto I remembered the Houndstooth in my pocket and decided to give it a go. it's far thicker and bulkier so I thought it would be a short experiment but I found that I had much more control and that I could see where I was cutting far better too. Most expensive xacto kinfe ever :D

I also had a chance to show it off to the driver from my outsource print vendor and nearly had to pry it back out of his hands!

So far I'm quite impressed and still pretty sure I can't afford one :thumbdn: So I'll savor the loan while it lasts.

I might try a little whittling with some of them if I have time, they seem sharp enough and I can run them along a strop when I'm done to keep 'em sharp.

Ok, back to oogling.

Alright Neko, what's going on with these knives? Have you had a chance to use any more of them?

Well life got the better of me and besides carrying and fondling they didn't get too much more use.
I had the box ready to go out on Wednesday but was asked by peppercorn to wait until today or Monday to send them out.

They sort of remind me of old Camillus knives and that reminds me to miss them all over again.

All in all some beautiful knives that I will be proud to own similar someday.

Theirs all wrapped up and will be in the mail for Monday.

Thanks again for the generosity.

Did you come away with one you really liked or preferred?

I really liked the larger ones. The F&F have crazy hard half stops and I love the orange handles. They felt like a great working knife.
The hounds tooth is a beautiful knife, one of the nicest I've seen but I think overall I preferred the stockman and whittler. Both were beefy and each had unique blade shapes (like the large main on the whittler) but I think the stockman wins the day. I liked the jigged bone on the whittler and I love the unXled shield but I think the stockman would get more use.
I could see that pattern easily ousting the Colt I currently carry for whittling. Nice selection of blades and a comfortable attractive handle.

To me they "feel" vintage, like they have a history. It's hard to exactly quantify but they have more soul than the Rough Riders and Colts I can afford. Definitely the type of knife I'd like to hand down to my boy one day. You can tell someone cared to make them.

He is shipping them out this weekend. Anyone else want a crack at these? Nows the time ro speak up.

Jeff, Ive never held any of these and would love to be added to the list. Ive been curious on more thsn a couple of them. Thank you for the chance to experience these patterns. Let me know if I need to do anything.

I would like to participate if it's not too late. I've been really curious about several of theses patterns.
