A girly, well-built knife

I bought my wife a pink Ka-Bar Dozier, model 4065PK. Blade length 3.0, open length 7.25, closed length 4.25, steel AUS 8A. Very light weight. $16.99.

Some of those Dozier folders look like they would be good value for the money and they are light and colorful.

Here is the one I have been looking at getting for my GF
Spyderco C11FPPR Delica4 Flat Ground 2-7/8" VG10 Satin Plain Blade, Purple FRN Handles

that dozier is a good knife - I gave those out as christmas gifts a few years back.
another thought if it doesn't have to be a folder would be the pink Izula.

My wife's favorite knife is the Tenacious, to be honest. I'd get a list of good knives and let her pick, personally.

Seriously Rethink The No Back Lock Thing Especially At Your Price Range.
Plus Back Locks Are Really Nice, Reliable, And Simple.

Spyderco Tenacious - Blue Or Green
Spyderco Dragonfly 2 - FFG Blade And WIRE Pocket Clip NOT Plastic
Spyderco Native Pink
Spyderco Delica 4 Purple (Also Comes In Blue, Green, Brown, Grey) Or There Are The Older Rare Pink Ones.
Spyderco Ladybug - Purple

Or You Can Take A Look At The Kershaw Leek, Scallion, Or Chive And Remove The Torsion Bar So It's Not A/O Anymore.
I Say Go For The Pink(Sun Rays) Leek On The Bay.

And The BM Pink Mini Grip Is A Great Knife. And She'll Think It's "Cute" That You Guys Have Matching Knives.
Trust Me.

$50 folder for your girlfriend?! I'll make that trade! Gotta pic? :p

Is she the kind of girl to always carry a purse, or more likely just to throw a couple cards and some cash in her hip pocket. If she carries a purse I would suggest maybe a small fixed blade like the CRkT Folts Minimalist. That's the one my wife grabs usually to open boxes and such at home, plus for a girl to just leave it in her purse she is more likely to have it and use it when she needs it.

For a folder, does she get her nails done regularly? My wife does and she can have a hard time with some of my liner locks. I think the Kershaw Skyline and a home dye job to the color of your choice would be a good way to go. Check the maintenance/tinkering forum for details on home dying G10. The Skyline is also very light weight and thin so it won't be felt in the skin-tight jeans (that I am very thankfull for!) that girls wear now.

DONT GET A GIRL A PINK KNIFE, TRUST ME WHEN I SAY ITS PATRONISING FOR THEM, unless your girlfriend wants pink and likes pink, go for a light blue, or yellow or red or even a purple, but what ever you do dont buy her a pink knife unless its asked for.......

I do not agree with this statement. Perhaps the woman in your life would not like a pink handled knife, but the women I've given knives to have always liked the pink knives I've given. Hell, my wife's whole collection is just about pink.

This has been my experience too

One other thing, I recently gave my sister a knife that wasn't girly in any way (Kershaw Composite Leek), but with some paracord, it is now!

Smaller size Buck Vantage. The Avid is in your price range. It has stabilized wood scales, and sandvik steel. I'm a girl, and I like it!

(I only want pink tools if I think I'm around guys that might steal.)

I may just jump on the yellow Mini-Grip... It's a great knife and it's yellow. She does like pink, but she's not a huge fan of it. I think it'd be better to get a yellow knife, or something uncolored.

We'll see how my finances play out in the next week or so.

For some reason when I talk about the Delica my girlfriend shies away thinking (I'm guessing) that if the handle is large that she can't control the knife. She won't use my Endura because of how large it is. I may have to go with a Ladybug or Dragonfly after all. It would be nice if she could handle them first. Right now she actually took one of those "small size" utility "change-a-blade" types for a trip shes on... Oh-well.

My wife wants this (though she thinks $50 is way too much for a knife):

My wife refused to carry a knife no matter how pink I promised it. But she asked me to get her a pink tactical pen and she carries it everywhere. I don't get it... she would rather feel safe than be safe. No matter, I carry enough steel for her and all her friends too :) Good luck.
