a good deal isnt always a good deal

If you paid with a USPS MO, get thee to the Post Office and fill out the proper forms to get them involved.

They don't take lightly people committing, if this is what it turns out, mail fraud.

There is (or used to be) a waiting period to allow for misdirected mailings, but still it is good to get them involved.

Was the other dudes auction for Busse or another brand? Not that it matters, just curious.

Thanks for the scoop, and glad you posted it both places. We also have a couple hogs on the Chicago PD, so that may be of some help should this get really ugly.

the guy just called me giving excuses, and said that 'no matter what you will get your money' ..... i told him that he needed to prove to me that this wasnt a scam from the beginning......

it reeks of scam.... excuses that dont add up.....

I bid on this auction by the same guy:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=5676944970&rd=1&sspagename=STRK:MEWN:IT&rd=1

After three unanswered emails, I sent a message thru ebay threatening the file a complaint with ebay and paypal. He finally replied stating that he had responded to ALL of my emails (he replied to NONE of them) and that he had sent the knife. I finally got the knife yesterday, although he did not send the sheath. When I sent email asking about the sheath, he immediately replied and said that the "guy" who had mailed it forgot the sheath; he said I should receive it today. I checked the box it came in and found this return address:

Chris Hagan
3430 Lawrence Lane
North Brook, IL 60062

Maybe the tracking number you have is for the knife he sent to me. I don't know if he is scamming or if he is REALLY UNORGANIZED! The pic posted on the auction I won is the same as the pic posted on the auction that valleyintheworks won. I feel very lucky at this point. I hope you didn't get screwed valley.

I think any statement directly related to this individual and his deals should be in the GB&U to let as many forumites in on the scoop as possible.

This thread is going to TGB&U.

Valleytinworks, we can understand you're naturally upset and it can be difficult to concentrate on facts under the circumstances, but you'll have to tell us exactly what has happened so far before we can come to any conclusion. Based on the information you've posted so far it is not at all clear whether the seller is doing any thing dishonest or not. Maybe he screwed up, maybe the shipping company or postal service screwed up, maybe he's being dishonest ... we need some facts ...

Hey, guys.....
This should also be posted in the G,B&U, so everyone has a chance to avoid this scumbag. Thanks.

Hey guys,

Thanks for the advise that you've provided on matters. I'm the other bidder that purchased the SFNO (as linked by Eric) and have also been sharing the same problems as Valleytinworks with regards to contacting the seller.

Just to provide you with a brief summary on some details on what's happened on my side so far:
1.) I won the auction on Mar. 13, 2006 and paid via paypal the same day.
2.) Seller states that he will ship the parcel out at the end of the week.
3.) Mar. 18, I contact the seller telling him that I have not recieved a tracking number for the parcel and an update would be appreciated. Seller responds that he had to work on Saturday and will ship it out first thing monday and provide me with a tracking number. This marks the last reply that I recieve from the seller despite asking for updates afterwards.

It's been a week since his last reply to any of my e-mails. Although I'm not happy about paying for the item almost 2 weeks ago and still not having it shipped out, I think an update on his situation should be the least he does after promising to ship the item out multiple times.

Despite these inconveniences, I'm glad to say that Valleytinworks has been a great help after I've contacted him to see if he's experiencing the same problems.

Hopefully everything will resolve itself shortly, but I'll remember to keep you all updated on how things pan out.

Try sending an email or PM to "Catchindirtbags" He's part of eBay's security team and he helped Busse recover some stolen prototypes.

Very sorry for your aggravation.

You guys should all file fraud claims on this clown with Ebay. I've done it before on a couple of occasions when dealing with guys like this, and it accomplishes a couple of things. First of all, you'll get most of your money back from Ebay (minus the $25 Ebay charges you per fraud claim). Second, and perhaps more importantly, Ebay has a tendency to suspend or ban accounts that receive multiple fraud claims in a short time span.

Hey guys,

Thanks for the concerns and the advice. Just thought I'd update the situation on my end after finally recieving a response from the seller.

After threatening to report my current situation to ebay if I didn't recieve a response by the end of the weekend, the seller replied back that he had shipped the item a day later than he had claimed and that the reasons for delay were that: "I don't check my mail regularly and two I just figured out I cant respond directly to emails sent through ebay". In addition, he also claims that he was auctioning off the knives for a friend of his, thus adding to the delays and lack of organization.

I'm not sure how truthful all the aforementioned statements are (I'll be sure to check the date of when he mailed it out when I get the package), but I will update you on when I recieve my parcel.

On the positive side, I'd like to give a public thank you to Valleytinworks for looking out for me as well. I understand he called the seller and took the extra steps in reassuring me that he would help me out if I continued to have problems with the seller.

I really appreciate the all the responses from you guys and want to thank you for your help and concern as well. I'll be sure to update the situation as things work themselves out now.

Progunner sent me an email about this sorry it has taken so long to get involved I was traveling and was out of pocket so to speak. I'll take a look at this.

Please file a complaint with eBay and PayPal if you used PP to purchase. I'll see what I can do with this matter but I won't be able to publicly reveal anything since there is that pesky privacy rights law. I'll do my best to help though.

As always anyone who is a fan of Mr Busse is certainly welcome to email me and I'll try to help several of the members have my work address. I travel a lot globally so patience sometimes may be needed.

Also I just want to say right off the top there are sometimes issues that come up with a seller I think we all can understand how we are often stymied in efforts to do the right thing. Cars break down etc. I am not making excuses but I have seen many issues that looked really bad turn out to be a series of errors and mistakes but they turn out well in the end. I am very impartial on this issue and not taking anyone's side I just hope that with a little patience we can get this worked out favorably for you all. You spent your hard earned money on our site and you certainly deserve great service. In the meantime if your respective auctions have closed 10 days ago or more please make sure you file a complaint. That is the only way our system knows if an issue is out there and it is also for your protection.

In the meantime I'll work on this from my end.

Respectfully,

John

Ok I spoke to the seller and it right now appears there was some bad communication going on and he has assured me that it has been squared away. As of right now I am going to take the gentleman at his word.

In short he said that there was some wording in his auction about shipping that was probably unclear. This happens more often than not. The good thing is we have good contact info, he is being responsive to us and does seem genuinely interested in clearing this up and keeping his account in good standing.

Progunner or anyone else that has my work email please feel free to ping me if this is not squared away. I am confident if this does get out of hand we can in fact work on this. If you have not received your product like I said before PLEASE do not cancel your complaints until you get the product and are satisfied. sometimes folks cancel early and that really messes things up. Also please do not leave feedback until you are completely done with the transaction you only have one chance to leave the first feedback.

I do think he is trying to do the right thing and we discussed ways to ensure he keeps his account in good standing.

Good to hear something is moving, as always your assistance is priceless John.

So if Valley or Spitzer still have problems, you guys let me know and I'll in turn drop the dime to John.

I love it when a plan comes together. :D

John,

Thanks for taking the time and initiative to check up on things for us. I agree with you that things seem to be underway right now and the seller was a little disorganized. I also like to try to give him the benefit of the doubt, but it's just a little disconcerting when you don't recieve a response for over a week.

Thanks to Progunner as well for referring this thread to John. I really appreciate all the extra help and advice I've recieved on the forum and am thankful for your concerns and the honest community that is built here. Your help has eased my mind knowing that help is available around the corner if things don't work out.

As previously mentioned, the seller claims that the item was shipped out on tuesday last week. If this is the case, I should be recieving it sometime this week. Hopefully Valleytinworks will recieve his shortly as well so he can chime in on whether things have been straightened out on his end.

I'll be sure to update when I recieve the knives. Thanks again for your help and initiative.

I've have had limited success with this guy responding to email. I was lucky enough to actually get the Meaner Street I bought from him on epay. However I did not get the "custom kydex sheath" that was supposed to be included. When I sent email inquiring about the sheath, he replied that it had been mailed the next day by his "friend". Now the date on the USPS postage was 3/22 and I received the knife on 3/24. I have yet to receive the sheath and I am not getting any replies to my emails. I have not yet filed a complaint with epay, but that is forthcoming unless I get the sheath. Like I said, I feel very lucky at this point. Hope all is resolved peacefully for all parties involved.

Hey guys,

Just to update you all, I just received the SFNO today. Although the seller said he shipped it out on tuesday, it was actually sent on wednesday. Also, as senorcosas mentioned, the knife was shipped from Chris Hagan - so his claim of selling the knife for a friend does appear to be truthful.

Everything came in fine and the knife is as described on the auction with very little usage and only minor chips in the coating. I'll be leaving him feedback on ebay later, but will be sure to mention about the difficulties with communication for future buyers.

Hopefully valleytinworks can chime in soon with how things are working out on his end.

Thanks again for everyone who posted on this thread offering advice and help - your support is much appreciated.

The sheath arrived in today's mail. I'm satisfied that there was no malice intended on seller's part. Lack of punctual communication from seller is my only complaint. Congrats Spitzer and good luck Valley.

I am posting this here and on the good bad and ugly forum since this particular person has targeted busse collectors.

Some of you will remember a few weeks ago I got a great deal on ebay…. Two busse knives for a buy it now price of 300 bucks any one on here would have jumped on it…
Well it was bogus.

The guy is full of shit.

What he doesn’t know is I have to be in Chicago on business in a few weeks and have every intention of stopping by for a ‘chat’

The auction said clearly "will ship monday after payment recieved" I have recipts and proof that the item was in fact shipped that monday. The tracking number was given in error. It was another item I shipped the same day and simply confused it. NO ONE who bought the items seamed to read that the item would ship almost a week after payment.

YEs I was selling them for a friend. He emailed me pics of the knives (some complained they were not the right pics) and he shipped half of them. In most instances My hands never touched some of the knives I was selling.

But as far as I know everyone got all the things promised to them. Vallytin got his knives and removed his paypal complaint.

I just need to tell you all learn how to be patient, I have awsome ebay feedback, its not like you bought a knife from a guy with one transaction.

Also I just wanted to say that after reading this post the threats made are funny not scarry. some one told me that the cops were comming to talk with me. Honestly what would they say, and why would you think that would scare someone? There is plenty of recourse available through ebay, paypal, and the post office, not to mention old fashion courtesy (I would have refunded money of my own volition if need be.)

Also if you do come to Chicago and want to chat give me a call. I'll spring for the beer and you can let me know how you like your busse.
