a good led headlamp

On the Zebralight h50, you have to partially unscrew the tailcap, and then screw it back it to change light levels - a little bit of a pain, but worth it for the more common/cheaper batteries IMO. I pair it with a Fenix L1D or L2D - plenty of extra light options & common batteries.

I've thought about picking up the 123 model to pair with my P2D, but I've been trying to keep my 123-type lights to a minimum.

I've got a few other headlamps - PT Eos, PT Aurora, etc..., but the Zebralight is my favorite.

Thanks man!!

I know the Princeton Tec models are gasketed, as I have a Quad as well and love it. But I'm not sure about the Petzyls. I have a Tactikka and it is not waterproof and the casing broke while in my backpack.

Petzl Tikka or Zipka. I like the Zipka because it has the retractable band. It's my goto flashlight for most occasions.

My wife uses a Princeton Tec model. I use a Black Diamond. I can't tell the difference in quality and the weight of both is about the same. I just expect a light to work when I turn on the switch. :) The Black Diamond light in the photo got plenty of use while hiking several hundreds of miles on the PCT. Many of those miles were spent hiking on dark nights since the days were too hot to backpack in some areas. Flawless performance.

I have used the energizer 3 led model for several years now. They function very dependably, put off an amazing amount of light, plus have the advantage of a red led as well. Battery life is also excellent. To top it all off I can pick them up at wal-mart for around 10 bucks. They run on three AAA batteries.

well thanks guys for all the feed back but i pick my heaad lamp and i choose drumroll please is the Princeton Tec AURORA thanks again guys

If you can wait til later in the year then Surefire is supposed to be releasing one called the Saint, that looks very fine, supposedly strong as abrick **ithouse, and it runs off a variety of batterie types.
