A Hartshead Barlow for May Day!

Congratulations on the milestone, Jack! I'm a rather quiet guy, so 50K messages is mind-boggling to me. Your presence and contributions here have been greatly appreciated by people like me who are still new to traditional knife collecting.

I saw the first post for this GAW just after I left for a 5 day trip to Reno NV. So, I have none of my knives with me. I found a river a few blocks from my hotel and then today I found a really nice Case Copperhead in a pawn shop around the corner (for a really great price).
Since this knife is the only one I have in my possession, it must be my favorite, right? So anyways, here is my favorite knife next to the Truckee River in downtown Reno:

Congrats on your 50K posts Jack! You have shared so much knowledge here and history. Personally, I have enjoyed reading so many of your educational and informative threads and I consider you a cornerstone of the porch, well done Sir! Thanks for doing this GAW which elicited so many great posts and pics. Not an entry as I have been far too fortunate around these parts. May you live a thousand years my friend :)

Not many bodies of water here in sunny Arizona but here is a photo from a rare Arizona rainy day. I've posted a handful of times times on the guardians thread but definitely don't qualify as a guardian as I don't yet own a lambsfoot so I can't post as often as I'd like, but please count me in on this giveaway. I'd love to finally own a lambsfoot! This pattern may quickly become my favorite pattern I've been missing! So I'm in!

I first thought that I might skip this generous give away, since I received a lambsfoot knife, gifted from one of the kind guardians this week. After some careful thought, I reasoned that Bill wouldn't want me to skip just because he sent me the Lambsfoot knife. šŸ¤”šŸ¤”šŸ¤”šŸ¤”šŸ¤”šŸ¤”šŸ¤”šŸ¤”šŸ¤”šŸ¤”šŸ¤”šŸ¤”šŸ¤”

So I am in Mr. Jack, because a Hartshead Barlow doesn't come along every day. I thank you for the chance ! ā˜ŗļø:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

I intended to go out and get some new pictures, but, the threat of rain hasn't diminished, and the time to go in the hat is drawing closer.

I’m in! Thanks, Jack Black Jack Black for the chance.

It also gave us a reason for a family walk to ā€œmirror lakeā€ which is a pond fed off of wilbarger creek.

That's a nice pic :) Good luck to you, and all our other entrants :)

Thanks Jack for your generosity!!! I’m in on this for sure! The stag version would totally complete my Lamb group! As you know my HHB in rosewood is one of my favorite knives to carry and use.

My picture is from a couple years ago. We camped at the beach! It was stormy and the weather was just miserable. But it is still one of our (my families) favorite trip!! In the background is the Pacific Ocean.

Bonus pic from a January trip me and my wife went on. HHB and the BF knife went on the trip as well!

Great pics Taylor :) Glad that you still made some happy memories of that trip in spite of the poor weather :)

A Hartshead barlow? I'm in.

I found it more difficult that usual to take a photo that meets the OP's requirements due to a very busy schedule this past weekend. This picture, snapped earlier this morning is a Hail Mary, and should hopefully suffice.

I live in the San Francisco Bay Area, and the body of water that most associate with the region is the eponymous San Francisco Bay. Rightly so, economically it is vital to the state and the settlement's that arose in the region were adjacent to the water. But perhaps even more important is the Sacramento/San Joaquin Delta. The water from this region literally gives life as it feeds and nourishes a large part of the state. Without it, many the large settlements that arose in California in the 20th Century would not be viable.

I live a mile away from the brackish zone, where the Delta meets the Bay. This is the view I see when driving home.

I’m in!
Not sure if it’s visible but I had a fox run by on photo 2 just above the blade tip and I couldn’t focus the phone on it fast enough.
