A inside out review of the ZT 300 (TONS of pics)

I've ordered the ZT0200 and intend getting the ZT0301 when I can afford it as well! ;)

Great review and photo's btw, and the discussion here ended concerns over the strength and quality of the knife!

Thanks for the kind words :)

I still believe that this is the best bang for the buck "hard use" folder on the market today.

as usual solo does a great review with lots of info & pics. i thought the choil was done extremely well with a fantastic assembly sequence which klutches like myself sorely desire.a big knife like this certainly benefits from a choke up to aid in close work.

So-Lo mostly, but I'm holding the rest of you responsible for this as well!

I started calling around about 0302 prices and stock and everyone was sold out but one place and they were down to the last 0302 in Canada it seems. I expect the postman to deliver it within a week so you guys better start sending me the money to pay for it. :p

EDIT: And here it is, replacing my M21-14 as my new EDC.

Awesome presentation. I have a 0300 and will definately keep this thread in mind. I love this knife. Thank you for your hard work putting this together.

So-Lo you ought to be ashamed of yourself.

This thread caused me to do a bit more research and I've now got a 0300 on the way from Kershawguy.

I know I'm SUPER late on this thread but I enjoyed reading this very very much thank you sir.

Great Review So-lo do you have a YT review on this knife ? And I'm requesting a review on that Tanto Seb you had in the bottom of your comparison pic. I think the ZT300 would be a great knife to pair with a sak or a ukpk, protech runt just something small that would give you something for social situations.

Can the speed-safe be disabled on the 0300 by removing the spring?

It can, however, there is no hole in the blade for the detent on the lockbar. The torsion bar is what holds the blade closed. So if you remove the torsion bar, the blade will open by itself. This is not the case with the 0350, the 0350 has a hole in the blade for the lock bar detent which will keep it closed without the torsion bar installed.

This is an awesome thread. I got my 301 about 6 months ago and am considering getting a 302 with the less "Tacticool" blade. or trying out one of the other fine offerings from ZT. I already have a 551 as well and if you want hard use without the speedsafe, go with that. The 200 is too Tacticool as well for me. When I first got mine, the torsion spring was rattling inside the cutout. has anyone else had the spring rattle and what was their fixes? I just filled it up with gear lube from my lathe. thick enough to stop the rattle and resist flowing elsewhere, thin enough to keep the action flawless. I used the CRK grease on the pivot and it flies. One of my all time top 5 hands down and probably top 3.

Awesome pics, outstanding review and very timely for me in spite of being an old thread. I just got a couple 301's and a 200. I was thinking about a 551 or a 550 but this thread is making me want another 30X.

If it was rattling when open it's normal. It's not under pressure then. Rattling when closed that's a problem. My 0300 should be here today thanks to kershawguy!!!! Yes!!!

With my finger choil, the choked up grip is great! With out it, its not as good.

Did you make the scales? If so would you ever consider selling a pair? Thanks, Benjamin

Those were a special run done for TAD Gear.
