I'm also waiting on a lefty 4" chisel ground hawkbill Maxx with "celtic" pattern handle milling. Pretty much a kerambit without a finger ring.
 
Why grind off the other part of the guard? Does it get in the way? I would think that since a lot of the knives you have are for defensive purposes, having a guard there would make sense.

It tends to hang up on the pocket, resulting in a net gain of zero in the wavage department.
 
Hmm what if you just shortened it and rounded the edges so less likely to get caught but still have something to protect your fingers? You could always grind it off if you didn't like it

Yes.

But... I've wanted a custom Dominator for at least 5 years, possibly more. It all goes back to this knife I carried in Iraq.

Then the wheels started turning.

I asked for a hollow/chisel grind on the Emerson (presentation) side. Figuring this will be seen by my haters, I told him to engrave "EAT ME!" with a small ball endmill on the flat side of the blade.

When I receive it, I will grind off the flipper so it is wave only much like I did to this AXD.



I guess you could say this is a form of trolling aimed at certain fanboys.

My next knife will be a 5.5" EAT ME Dominator.
