A Knife Exchange question. Would like some opinions.

I had this happen once. I got a hold of the supervisor at the receiving post office asap and told him it was flagged undeliverable. He got in touch with the driver who confirmed they had it. I have him all the info he needed for the recipient and he was able to pick it up later that day at the post office.

The package was addressed PERFECTLY. No clue why the mail carrier flagged it.

This is why I obsess about tracking packages. The longer you wait, the less likely it is you will ever see it again.

My question is, should I the seller take all the risk here?

It won't help with this transaction, but going forward is very help to articulate in the sales thread who has the risk of loss. On the rare occasion that I sell a knife, I will say that I have the risk of loss until the USPS says that its been delivered. I also take a picture of the label before I send it. That came in handy recently on another forum when the seller gave me the wrong address. That doesn't solve all problems, but it avoids some of them.

You're in a tough situation now and there is no good answer. Consider that the package may be sitting in a USPS bin somewhere, and you'll probably get it back in due course. It took me two weeks to receive a package under similar circumstances. But if that doesn't happen, I tend to place the risk of loss with the sender until it ends up in the buyer's mailbox. Good luck.

I include insured priority shipping and Paypal fees in my pricing usually.

It's the seller's responsibility to get the package to the buyer.
