a knife liking girl = aggressive????

Hi Lizzie !!!!!
Was the Calypso the knife that prompted the episode ?

I like girls that like knives (guns, fishing, hunting, etc.)
Do you know any in Oklahoma ?

Liz,
My wife carries a knife. She's not aggresive. Sensitive, very intelligent and confident yes...but aggresive she's not.
She also is a NRA certified instructor and teaches the personal protection class required for concealed carry permits. She's also been the Range Master for the local Pistol Club. She regualrly carries a 9mm.
She's prepared...not aggresive.

Liz,

I mentioned it because I figured that if two average, non-knife carrying, guys spotted it that a trained LEO probably would as well. Most people are NOT very observant, but LEO's supposedly get trained and paid to be just that.

Your school sounds a little more liberal than mine was. I quickly moved off campus because they stopped us for EVERYTHING.

Dave.

AMEN! Knife carrying women are God's gift to us knife knuts! Now if only there were more knife knutettes around. Maybe you could go around convincing your female friends that they should carry a knife also, Liz.

Oh and one more thing. Liz, how did you become a senior member with only 48 posts?! Is it because your a girl? Do all girls automatically gain senior status? That's prejudice I tell you.

Darn...... why is it I can't find a woman that shares my blade "thing".

I don't know if that qualifies you as Agressive...... but it makes for one heck of a fantasy

Nothing wrong with a gal carrying a knife OR a firearm. I think more women should do it
smile.gif
. Only suggestion I can offer is, if you really plan on using it for personal protection that you take a course/class. So that way you will be more profient with your tool.

BTW, your have good tastes

The Calypso Jr. is one of my favorite production knives that I use fequently. Glas to see you post - see ya in IRc chat.

"Aggressive" is a pretty meaningless word these days ... people use it to mean anything from "likely to beat people up for no apparent reason" to "showing some interest in career advancement." Who knows what those guys meant by it?

Those are obviously weak men who don't deal well with powerful women! Mine carries at all times (since I gave her two Spydercos; she's liberated and all, but still cheap
smile.gif
)

Next time, just tell 'em wearing a knife isn't aggressive. USING a knife to carve your initials into sexist chuckleheads is aggressive . . . .

Heh heh. I'm gonna have to work on cutting the caffeine down to non-toxic levels . . .

I don't mind women carrying knives at all. Well, as long as it's not bigger than mine...

My fiance carries knives, My Mom carries knives. Heck I might make up a sheath for my (female) dog's collar so I can have a blace to stuff a spare leatherman or something one of these days.

I think that some men are threatened by women having any traits that are traditionally male. Those men are weak and afraid of women thay cannot control.

Up here, I do not think anyone can afford to not have invested in some preparedness. Women included. Weather conditions and such can make the trip home a life or death situation. A knife or multi-tool is often the difference between life and death.

A woman who can tolerate her SO's knives is desireable. A woman carrying a knife is smart. A woman who can talk knives is a goddess. My fiance is a Goddess because she can point out a spyderco clipped into a pocket from 30 feet.

My wife is an LEO, and carries a Emerson Commander all the time in her uniform, and rotates her other knives in her casual wear, but always has a knife on her person, or somewhere around really close.I won't expand on that one for obvous reasons.
As far as it making her aggressive,I think it does, but for most of the time, especially at work, she has to.As far as on her own time,it is not to look aggressive, but to carry as a useful tool.
Yek-Luana says, you should make a neck(collar) knife for her to carry.

My .02 cents.

It is unnatural for people, since we left our good strong fingernails behind us in Eden or East Africa or somewhere like that, to walk around knifeless. Women are people. Women should walk around with knives.

A guy who is "put off" by a woman who carries a knife may not have the self confidence to deal with a woman who shows signs of self-reliance. And God forbid that you should meet one of those guys out there who can't understand a mere verbal "No."

What I find frustrating, as a dealer in sharp objects, is women who vote, drive cars, wear shoes, and all that egalitarian stuff, who look at a knife I show them and say "Nice knife! My husband/son/brother would like that!"

Liz,

My girlfriend loves knives and she is not aggressive at all, no way. Girls who like knives are just like guys who like knives and you aren't "aggressive" just because you like knives.
I wouldn't want a girlfriend who doesn't like knives!!! Welcome aboard!

I've got an idea on how we can make more women knife knuts. Liz became a knife carrier (not quite a knife knut yet, not till she gets her sebenza
smile.gif
) because Bill McWilliams gave her a Calypso Jr. I think if all guys, stopped being so selfish, gave a girl a good knife they'd become a knife carrier too.

Oh and one more thing, when deciding on the perfect knife to give to a female, remember, don't worry about how well a knife functions, just give them the "prettiest" knife. That's all women care about, they would rather carry a pretty knife than a useful knife. And one last thing, the pinker the better.
