A Knife made for my local cops

I had mentioned a couple of months ago that I was working with my local county and city police officers to design them a fixed blade back up knifewith a different kind of carry system.Well I finished a couple up and here are some pictures.Sorry about the bad pics he took of his knife on his duty belt,but when he saw it I couldnt get it back from him.I will get a better picture of it soon though,Have better pictures of the other one.

1/8 inch thick,Double edge blade is 2 1/2 inches long and the handle is 3 1/2 inches long.The knife on the officers belt has thin Ebony scales with a parra cord lanyard,the next one is parra cord wrapped handle only,I am also offering this knife as a skeleton frame only,along with a Damascus version.

The sheath is thin and made to be slide inside the belt loop of the ammo pouch and then snaps over the belt after the ammo pouch is secured back on the belt.These are made from leather but I am trying to figure out a kydex one for those that want one.

i like that one. you will have to snail mail me a sheet i can hang at both the sheriffs office and also the city cops office cause im sure alot of them would be interested. i know quite a few of the local sheriffs in this town. it should help generate alot more business for you here in bandera. i wonder if you made a firemans model if the local firefighters would be interested. email me if you want me to post the flyers here for you and ill give you my address. or i could even give you the addresses to the sheriffs and cops offices.
 
Hey Thanks Jacob...I will be getting it up on my website tomorrow and will try and get you a flyer made up.I do have another model on the design board that will work for rescue better than "get me outta trouble"....

you do know that if you sell to the sheriffs that you would want to have it say sheriff instead of police. HEHEHEHE!!!! love the design tho. i might make one for cowboys that can fit under a buckel or something. or even a special custom buckle for them with the knife holder for a sideways pull instead of top or bottom pull. i might have to get with you on that so you can help me with designs.
 
Bruce, being a 911 Dispatcher for my county Sheriff's Office, I often get into discussions about their gear. I think that some of the deputies that I work with would be interested in this great design, however, most of the deputies and officers I work with are tighter than bark on a tree with their money. Most of them have a hard time springing for the less than ideal folders they carry. For some reason a quality knife is not as important to them as their duty weapon.

IMHO if that design could be rigged to be carried in a multitude of positions on the offcer's belt/person, and priced affordably for "cheap-ass cops";) ...it'll be a winner. Good luck! -Matt-
 
I have done some for Cowboys,But they had me make them to be set next to the saddle horn.They were ropers and wanted the blade set to cut the rope as it was pulled from the sheath in case they got a hand tied up in the rope.

The officer that took the picture of his blade is a city officer during the day and works for the county sherriff at night...In fact he is the one that wanted the black and blue beads,as it has something to do with the police (it is a cop thing ya know:D )

A sideways draw sheath isnt to hard to make.but I would be glad to help you out if I can.

The beads represent the "Thin Blue Line" of law enforcement officers that serve and protect the public every day. The black represents the officers that have given their lives, the blue represents the currently serving LEOs. Like Bruce said it's a cop thing! :D -Matt-
 
would you be able to do a bulk discount? like if X many sheriffs or cops order it you give them a bulk discount? ill talk to some of the sheriffs tomorrow when im in town along with some of the cops (they are right across the street from each other). if they are interested ill bring them to this thread and show them the pics or if you have your site up by then ill show them your site. im sure there are quite a few who can swing the price. i know one of the sheriffs only cause he went to his house to fill up my water jugs when my car overheated from bad head gaskets. if you can get that rescue one done and posted ill show it to the fire departments.
 
Matt,If a officer wants a different carry sheath,They will just have to say so when they order one,or I will just have a sheath with a boot belt clip available also....

I also am offering the officers a special deal on replacement blades....

If a officer uses one of my knives in the line of duty to save his/her life or a victims life and the knife gets lost or destroid,they will just have to send me a letter about the situation and I will replace the knife at no cost to them,as long as I have the right to use the story on my website.

you do know that if you advertise to all the major city police and sheriffs you will make nothing but those knives. you thinking about getting your name out there like that yet?
