a little bummed out

I have a woodswalker, was so impressed with it that I have been thinking of adding as a small knife fixed to the sheath of my Bolo's.
A good product and a class act.

Mr. Russell, its people like you that make me think the world is a better place then it really is, when i get the money, ill be dealing with you.

Posting here to address a customer's concern was likely the most cost-effective "advertising" Mr Russell ever did. Although I doubt he thought of it that way. Next time I'm looking for a production knife, I'm looking at the AGRussell site first. Just ordered a catalog. You guys are right, honest businessmen deserve our "Vote with your wallet" like SkunkWerx said.

BTW I noticed on their site, when you request a catalog, they ASK your permission to put you on a mailing list. Instead of just taking your name/addy and selling it like some places do. Again, that shows class.

Did you happen to get the hip pocket sheath along with the kydex? I've been using the Russell pocket sheath to edc a BRK&T Mini Canadian for a little while now. Although it seems like an awful lot of leather for a little knife, it works great.

I always think this is cool. I play a lot of paintball as well - and there are a few out there that do what Mr. Russel did. I am going to take a look at his knives now.

I am in the market and CS goes a LONG way.

Wow...had not seen this thread Sunday (3/18) afternoon....

...when I ordered my Woodswalker!

It certainly would not have affected my decision, since 1) its such a cool looking all-purpose urban friendly fixed blade, and 2) I have seen AG Russell appear quite often here to address customer service issues. Awesome.

If I have one complaint for Mr. Russell, its this...when I ordered the Woodswalker it should have either come out of my computer or materialized on my desk.

This waiting's killin' me. See if you can do something about that.:D

You will not be disappointed...For the price, for a good everyday utility knife the woodswalker is tough to beat I love mine...and even wear it as a neck knife when i go running...

and even wear it as a neck knife when i go running...

Really? I thought it might flop around too much. And you do that in NYC? Lived and worked there for 15 years and did not see many neck knives. Maybe wasn't looking close enough...and it was the Village...

(got the leather sheath, myself) (which I guess might have been appropriate for the West Village...)

LOL.... I keep it under my sweat shirt... it's small enough that it doesn't count as a concealed weapon....At least I don't think so.....I sometimes run in A suburban area of queens called forest park Its a 400 hundred acre park with some of the only naturally standing forst in the city... It's like a wilderness appetizer (it's enough to keep me going from day to day) obviously the more secludd areas of this park are home to some less than reputable charectars so little extra security is nice.

NICE....I just spoke to customer service they seemed a little alarmed by the fact that My knife was missing (leading me to believe that this doesn't happen alot) However instead of just sending me a new knife I have to wait to be contacted by thier QA person...I know it sounds childish but I don't want to wait I just want the knife....Anyway I'm going hiking at an abandoned coastguard base turned nature perserve today...guess it's a sak and a clipper....

Riley,
It IS childish!! Delight in it! We are ALL childish, that's why we spend so much time in here hanking on this and that...none of which makes a dime's bit of difference. We MUST remain children. Demand your knife so you can play with it right now!!!!

I'm having a tantrum just reading this thread!

Um.. can I order one and y'all could forget the knife... and um I could email... and you could send a second one for my wife too??? Please??? Kidding.
Great work AG, and congrats RR!

I mentioned it in several other post but the original knife and the second one both came very quickly along with a hand written letter from customer service...It was awesome (and so are the knives)

I'm with deerslayer...I think I'd like them to forget mine when I order another... :D

Mr. Russell, sir, great products and stellar service!

Hmmm - - this has been up awhile but I was thinking about getting a little fixed blade for genl outdoors use & think I'll go check out the AG website again. - I like dealing with companies that offer great company service and avoid those that don't (life's too short to do otherwise). Regards, - -

I just have to add that A.G. Russell has a first-class, 100% grade A prime operation. Probably the best that I have encountered in the knife industry. I feel fortunate that we traveled through that part of the country on a trip once. We detoured about 3 hours out of our way to visit the store. That was the highlight of my trip.

You know...I ordered my Woodswalker online Sunday night.

It's Wednesday and I haven't gotten it yet!!!....I'm waiting!

Mr Russell if you are out there, I think the least you could do is send me one of your Drop Point Hunters....the one with the Brown Linen Rucarta handle.:D

My Woodswalker has arrived!

I hoped it would be my EDC Urban Survival/Office Friendly fixed blade.

It will never leave our kitchen. Admittedly, I think it will make an awesome paring knife (so does my wife), but...I wanted it for ME!!! Waaah!!!

Guess I gotta buy another one.

A. G. Russell, if you are out there, great knife, super quick delivery, love the leather sheath, and buying another will be a pleasure. (I guess that goes for everybody else too)

Alright, let's say it's spring in North Europe or N.America(USA/Canada) well it is!
You decide to go out in the forest for a day trek lasting 8 hours,or so you envisage. But being spring the weather turns nasty(very unpleasant blizzard) you possibly twist an ankle and/or lose your way and find yourself in deep trouble with the light fading and a rising sense of dread. You will have to spend the night or maybe two outside, not a pleasant prospect. What 7 items do you wish you had packed in your small rucksack but didn't? Ah yes, no mobile phones allowed just to make things tricky

For me it would be:
Whistle,
Small bluet stove/kettle
Tea-bags
Electric torch, skunklight or skylight
Thermal sleeping bag
Compact revolver for warding off predators
Flask of spirits (pref Bourbon or Calvados)

My day pack has, compass, folder(Buck Alpha Hunter or Bark River fixed blade)
monocular, chocolate, pack lunch, lighter, first aid dressing, hat with ear-flaps,plastic bags for sitting on. Forgot my mobile(cell)phone in the car....
