I've gave a lot of praise in the past to their knives, and own 3 currently. But recently I purchased a brand new 5.11 Tactical "Scout" folder, which is part of their new line of knives.
The knives come tapped for the pocket clip to be attached in all 4 positions, tip up/tip down and left/right handed. But the holes for only right hand tip down, were OK, all 3 other positions, the holes and threads were way over sized and the screws just fell out. (I'm a southpaw, so that is an issue)
To me, this is clearly a manufacturer's defect that should be covered under warranty, but when I called 5.11 I was basically shrugged off with an attitude of "not our problem".
I contacted the Ebay seller and he quickly requested I send it back and gave me a full refund, but I have to say I was very disappointed in 5.11's response to this.
