Managed to sneak out for a quick overnight with my buddy Jason,

It started out with a 3mile hike along the AT toa point where we bushwhacked off the trail to my secret spot

Here is a view of the Lake from the crest of a hill on the AT

Once we got to the site.. I saw that the debris hut I made back in August was still in good repair..(totally usable despite the fact that it hsn;t been touched in a few months)

Here is the poncho shelter I stayed in we employed opposing leanto shelters on either side of a body length fire... as a means of keeping warm as the temp s dropped below freezing

Great trip overall Just wanted to share.

That looks like a great spot for an overnighter ... right by a lake, nice !

How do you like the new wool shirt ? do they run small ?

P.S. - Glad to see you didn't set yourself on fire this time ;)

I like your idea with the sticks thru the rope to tie off the eyelets on the tarp... Would have never thought of that.

Looks like it was a good time. Did you stay warm??

Thanks for the kind words guys...

K.. THe wool shirt was great, but thety do run a little small... that large fits me like a medium

Snake Doc.. the body lenght fire, leanto set up kept me good and warm til about 3:30 when the fire died down after that it started to get a little chilly.

Nice pictures, RR. Thanks for sharing.

The sticks through the poncho ropes - for ease of untying or for spreading the stress out?

Doc

great pics!

wish we had open rambling woods like that here. Our woods are densely thick with undergrowth and snag piles.

Good stuff Riley, looked like a great sleeping set up !

You sure ya not just smoking a big joint here though, ya look a little out of it !

THanks guys...

SHotgun.. I am using a North face (cats meow) sleeping bad rated to 20f although after 8 years of service it feels more like a 35 f (lol) also a mil surplus wool blanket.. temps at night hovered around 30-34 f

Here's the link..They Run small though.. I'm a maeidum sized guy, and the large is snug

Pit... I wish, but I get pee tested.

Rick, Thanks.. I take a compliment from you as a serious thing... Thanks.

RescueRily,

I think the link to the wool shirt didn't work. I can't see it on my end.

I'm 5'9" tall, 160lbs, and 32" waist. Think the large would fit?

Thanks!
