A little piece of 3/4 inch round W2

I was goin to ask what kind of hammers ya use Tai but lo there in the pic is one that I made one like and they are great for drawing! But I think your hammer control is way better than mine...your work is outstanding! thanks for showing, its truly inspiring!

Thanks!

I think using hand hammers and primarily hand tools does help. It forces me to slow down, and gives me time to think. I've often wondered if speed is detrimental, and if good work just flat out requires time. Maybe a certain amount of time is an unavoidable factor and prerequisite.

It’s not like I’m out in the shop 8 hours a day at forging though. I try to pace myself and only work out in the shop 4-5 hours a day,… max. I’m best in the mornings, and try to recognize my mental and physical limitations,... and when I‘m at my best. It's easy that way.

Hey! I'm getting kind of old, 51 next month.

There’s also so much else to running a business and taking care of daily chores.

Anyway, thanks for looking and the kind words...

OLD SLOW HAMMER GOO. :)

Just out of curiosity:

How long did it take you to forge out that blade, and equally important, how long did it take you to become that good?

Cheers ROdy

ps did you make that drawing hammer yourself or did you buy it (and where)?

Rody, I don't watch the clock. :)

I made the hammer from a ball peen.

Here's the sheath by Chuck AKA Wild Rose.

Tai, that's beautiful!

Even without seeing the credit I had a feeling Wild Rose made the sheath, the knife and sheath complement each other beautifully!
