A little smoke please....

Karda Smoke sent.
Do whatever you want to to me but don't mess with my kid or my dogs(same thing really). I'd rather wade through hell than watch one of my animals suffer.
Funny Dachshund story, my Aunt had one that out lived her. The dog's name was Ali, short for Alligator Bait as they lived on a small lake in central Florida. Well Ali was hidden under the covers, with mommy, and liked to scared the poor Hospice nurse clear out of his wits.

I am setting up a candle to keep burning for Marbles - will help any way i can

Hi Karda -

I hope your little buddy is feeling better. Your dogs are the only "people" in your life that give you unconditional love.

The hardest thing I have ever had to do in my entire life was to hold a pet while he was put down.

Celebrate his life, and keep him as comfortable as possible. He looks like he has been very well loved and part of a family that treats him as part of the family.

I will say a prayer for Marbles later today.

best regards -

Thank You my friends!!!
The extra help from you all seems to be working!
Marbles had a good day yesterday. We were actually able to give him a little less pain meds, with no problem, so that he isnt feeling and acting all doped up. He has been able to go to the bathroom properly and his gait doesn't seem to be worsening. He ate and drank pretty well.
All good signs that things have at least stabilised somewhat. Hopefully with good nursing he will come thru this and get well.
I am encouraged. Tired, but encouraged.

I wouldn't know what to do if this fella's gone. So far 13 years with him has been fun and tears of vandalism.

Uwinv, sure glad to hear that Marbles is getting better!!! My first dogge was a dachshund, Fritz, and a finer Doxie never walked on Turtle Island! Fritz left this world because of a hit and run driver in Montana. The only good thing was Fritz didn't have time to be in pain.
I'll never forget the teacher I had at the time; I went to school in a two room country schoolhouse and there was two teachers, mine taught 1st through 7th grade in one room and the other teacher taught 8th through 12th grade.
My teacher asked why I had missed school and I told her about Fritz and what had happened. When I had finished instead of having a comforting word for a little 7 year old kid she said something to the effect, "Your parents let you stay home because a dog got killed!" "You're gonna have a lot more hurt than that in your lifetime!"
I disliked that woman from then on!!!

Smoke and Song that Marbles stays on the road to recovery!!!  :D

Oh yeah, Uwinv I'm sure you know this but when a Doxie has back problems it's best not to let them jump on the furniture or anywhere else as it causes undue stress for them. :(

Positive thoughts for you and the little guy and glad to hear he's doing better, bro.

Thank you all again!
Unfortunately, i think i counted my chickens before they'd hatched. :foot:
He is back on full pain meds, but is more alert because he's getting used to them. Having good days and bad days.
We put the mattress on the floor so it wouldnt be so high and tonight he got down from it and caused himself some pain. The wife turned around for a sec and he decided he wanted to get down before either of us could stop him. :o:( Strict cage rest for him now.
Everything still seems to be more or less stable and he is able to potty more or less normally, which is a blessing in itself at this point.
He has his neurology appointment next week.
Hopefully there will be some kind of good news somewhere.

Now if i could manage writing simple sentences without all the spelling errors to correct before posting.........:D
