Sal said if there was enough response he would bring out a low ride clip! Make yourselves known if you want one. Here are his words-

I guess if reaction is good, we could possibibly make a "low ride" (deep pocket) clip as an accessory.

I know there are a lot of guys out there who don't carry because they don't want to have a buggy eyed person ask them "Is that a knife?" A discreet carry method would prevent this problem.

I have been whining about one for the past year PLEASE as an accessory for some of the most popular models. Really want to make my day, make it a wire clip with no sharp edges.

I think you should Sal. I'm getting quite a few requests for them. What people really want is a black one which I cannot provide. Come out with a black low rider fold over clip that mounts into the existing holes using the original screws and you will sell them. I have had I don't know how many requests now for black clips. Kind of funny really because I'll get a request for one and the email following it is a request to bead blast a black one that is all scratched up. But still the black ones seem to be something the public wants at least to me in my own little corner of the world here.

Yes please offer a low ride clip in multiple versions e.g for FRN Endura & Delica as well as a 3 screw version for Manix/ Ocelot etc.

Thanks!

I'd be in for a lot of them.

Hey, Schmackey, if you don't mind me asking, what is your avatar a picture of? I've been curious about it for quite some time now.

I'm in for at least three of the CalypsoJr/Dragonfly type three screw attachment clips. Heck, it might persuade me to buy even MORE spydercos....

 Count me in. I'd be happy for either an after market clip to buy as a replacement, or new models with low ride clips. Thanks for listening, Sal.

Best regards,

Argyll

To digress for a moment, I am not Shmackey but I can tell you that his avatar is T. Herman Zweibel, Publisher Emeritus of the Onion

yeah. I'd love a little lower riding clip for my Native and Endura. But I prefer the look of the standard Spyderco clip (as opposed to the wire clip on the Native III and others).

That said, it would be hard to attach a fold over version of the standard clip, so a wire clip wouldn't be the end of the world.

My lust over a lower riding clip really isn't from any sheeple fear, I don't care who knows that I've got a knife on me. I carry and use responsibly so I don't care what they think. My reason for wanting a clip is more security in the pocket.

With a big knife like the Endura it's really not a big deal, but I think a smaller knife like the Native, Dragonfly or Caly Jr. would be well served by a clip that allowed it to ride lower in the pocket. With more of the knife in the pocket there's less chance for it to get caught on something and fall out.

But another thing to consider with lower riding clips is how easy or difficult it will be to get the knife out of the pocket. The reason I carry a one hand opener for utility is the ease of getting it out and open quickly so I can get on with my life. If it rides so low that it's hard to get out of the pocket, then the clip is kinda self-defeating. I think a clip that would allow the knife to ride maybe a quarter of an inch lower will be low enough to provide enough security, yet enough handle exposed to easily catch for deploying the knife.

A good example of a 'low-rider' would be the Benchmade Pika. I like that knife for precisely that reason.
