A low ride clip!!!!

I'm interested. I'd like a nice black, wire clip that doesn't draw attention to itself and moves the knife deeper into my pocket.

Endura, Delica, Native, Manix, and ATR... I'd love a low riding accessory clip for any and all of these, even though I still don't get the importance of the low ride, but that's on another thread entirely. ;)

I think you should Sal. I'm getting quite a few requests for them. What people really want is a black one which I cannot provide. Come out with a black low rider fold over clip that mounts into the existing holes using the original screws and you will sell them. I have had I don't know how many requests now for black clips. Kind of funny really because I'll get a request for one and the email following it is a request to bead blast a black one that is all scratched up. But still the black ones seem to be something the public wants at least to me in my own little corner of the world here.

I was going to say that someone was making a great fold over model, but I couldn't remember who..I like yout paramilitary rework.

I want a clip like the one on the UK Penknife.

I actually modifed the wire clip on my Native 3D to do just that. It works ok but the native 3d is pretty fat to use in this way. The wire does fit under the standard Spydie screw (on a delica or whatever) but it's not ideal.

I'd buy at least 5 clips that would fit the existing models if they low-rided. If it was a new knife that had ~3" blade I'd be in for at least two.

Low ride clips keep the sheeple and more importantly me happy.

SOG and Darryl Ralph have some great designs, I can hardly wait until Sal tries his hand at it. :)

yes please!

I'd get at least two. (And probably more as the collection grows.)

I'd prefer black. Or maybe bead-blasted grey? Or anything, really.

I wonder if we have reached Sal's criteria of a "good reaction" yet? The market for a low rider clip is obviously there.

I wanted to say that a low rider clip has some disadvantages. For instance, you don't have much left to grab when you want to pull your knife from IWB or pocket. Also it has some technological limitations and some particular models may require a great deal of retooling.

However, I realized that my very EDC (VG-10 Delica) has a modified low ride wireclip and it spends 99% of my time with me for a couple years now :foot:
So I guess the low ride clip just passed the test of time, at least for me ;)
Therefore, I'd jump at any model that comes with this option.

I agree there is a happy medium that can be attained with a good clip and an acceptable riding position for the knife. Some like the SOG Twitch XL and the Xray and Mini Xray vision simply ride too low. Lanyards are a must just to have something to get a hold on to extract the knife. So, once a lanyard is attatched to it the whole idea of concealment is shot out the window IMO.

My BM 420 is the same way. I love the factory low ride clip but a lanyard is necessary to get hold of the knife to get it out easy. Truthfully the manufacturers that made the above models didn't do the buyers of these knives any favors by making them with slick scales with no texture of any sort to get your hand or thumb on to pull them out of your pocket when they ride so deep. A simple G10 scale would help immensely even if it was just mounted on the thumb side only. I've found with some low riders that the best way to move the knife up to start to extract it is by pushing up on the clip on the outside of my pocket. It could be better in design though.

Some others like the Buck Odessey and the Para Military, Military and the ATRs all ride entirely too high for my personal tastes. So it goes both ways.

I think a low rider can work with most G1O scales similar to those seen on the Yojimbo and Millie. These have great tackiness to them and allow a good grip even if the knife is riding deep.

One other thought that comes to mind though is this.

You could easily mount another piece of titanium, or handle material like a thin piece of G10 to the thumb side of the folder giving the thumb something to lift up with on that side that would be on the inside of the pocket on the knife. It wouldn't have to be much bigger than a mini speed bump (so to speak) or raised up area built into or mounted on the handle scale on the thumb side as it sits in the pocket. This would give you just enough to get some retention for your fingers to get the knife out..

Low ride clips add a bit of a stealth factor, great idea! Caly Jr, Delica, Native, any color is fine.

I carry IWB and I prefer as low a ride as possible and for the clip end of the closed knife to be as flat or smooth as possible, like my G-10 Standard, CF Dragonfly or the Zowada. As an example, the FRN or SS Dragonfly pokes me in ribs and is not that comfortable for me... OK, so I'm being poked in my spare tire and not the ribs, but you get the idea, right? Anyway, a replacement "low ride" clip for the FRN Enduras, Delicas, Natives, etc. would be great. I'm in for several in black.

Ahem.
