That's a wonderful remembrance, Charlie. It's sad that he never got to meet the baby, and watch him grow a little. Those are great knives, and tell a great story. However, I have always said that knives are just knives, it's the memories attached to them that are the real treasure.

You are right on - the wood is worn way below the rivets, which are polished quite smooth, and the blade is very worn, but properly sharpened along the way.Thanks for sharing Charlie, those are very interesting knives. The second one from the top appears to have been a favorite by the wear it shows on blade and covers. They're very well cared for and to be cherished by the family since they were a part of his daily life.
