good info. i've had too many a young mead. bleah.

had some, well, more than some "Viking Blød" not bad stuff. stronger than you'd think. so i've "woden up in the m0rning" feeling like i was hit my Thor's hammer a few times.

good times!

Thanks for the info, too, zzyzz....I've had a bottle for about 16-17 years now (homemade) that I couldn't bear to chuck, but was too afraid to open. Now I know what I gotta "dew" ;).

A year and a day after I bottled "Mead Batch 1", I popped a cork. That stuff was like night and day, compared to the crap I tasted a year before. I have worked my way through 15 of those first 25 bottles, about 1 per month or so. Each bottle has been very tasty. I've also worked on batch 2 and 3,

I think the only way I could be convinced to try it again is if you sent one of those bottles to me :D

know what we call a freshly sanded boat around here?

stolen :D

This week has turned out poorly for my self-control, and good for me and BK&T, since I now have more Beckers in the mail than the number I currently own. *sigh*

The sigh will be replaces with eager, shallow panting whwn you see the delivery confirmation come through.

Do yourself a favor and call out sick that day. Give yourself time to play. You already took the hit to the wallet, might as well enjoy them.

Ok, I am wondering if the Lodge Sportsman Grill at Wal-Mart is actually a good quality Lodge or if it's a "cheap" version for walmart.

I was trying to remember if I posted in this thread yesterday but I couldn't find it if I did.

Surgery went well. They used nerve blockers in my leg so it's actually still numb so there's pretty much hardly any pain. Been watching TV, messing around on the internet and trying to not be bored.

Incidentally, bought my wife her first knife for her. Purple Spyderco Endura. Pretty stoked for her.

Hopefully being home and in front of the internet doesn't lead to too many bored purchases...!

:thumbup:Good to hear things went well. Smoke sent for a speedy recovery!

I imagine that it wouldn't serve Lodge too well to cheapen a product like that just to send to Wally-World. I know that generally Wal-Mart goes in strong buying for a low price, but I think back to a scenario like the one Buck always argues with the 110's they send to Wal-Mart. If that product is someone's entry into the brand and the product is not up to par, it may ruin the brand for them going forward.

Shoot, Cbear.... Just pull out your San-Mai 11, cut the box open and look for yourself in middle of the isle. :D

I still kick myself for not jumping on one at Target when we were putting together our wedding registry. It had to have been a fluke: there were a few hours one evening where it went down below $60.... Then right as I decided that that was too good to pass up, they were back up to the normal price.

Nothing but rain and lightning here. Guess I probably won't get to see the meteor shower.

We went out last night to watch the meteor shower around midnight. Saw 4 in about 15 minutes, called it a night, haha. One we saw had a brilliant tail.

I saw two around 4:00am Wednesday morning, last night I was inside all shift. Tonight I have a truck but it's really cloudy and there's a good deal of light polution in this area. I think the comet that made this one is supposed to come back around in about three years.

On the plus side, Fallout Shelter just came out for Android. If you don't know what that is, you probably won't care.

Glad the surgery went well! Nice choice on the Spyderco as well. I got my dad started on knives with a Spyderco. Granted it was the MUCH smaller one. He got the Spyderco Bug.

I could use my San-Mai, my Camillus, my Ka-Bar with the coating, my Ka-Bar without the coating, or my Serrated. Or I could use my Hornet, or my Daizee 85%, or my Daizee 100%, or my Magua, or my 15, or my other 15, or my 16, or my Saber 16, or my 16/7, or my 17, or my Tracker-2, or my Jerry Hossom Caper, or my Ka-Bar USMC Short, or any of my Bark Rivers, or any of my Ver Steeg blades... Maybe I should carry ALL of them in and see.
