A Monumental Experiment? To Carry the Same Knife Every Day for a Year

I may try this with the Camillus army engineer knife. It’s been begging to be used.

Well the 85 made it 9 days into January, and though it was a grail knife for me, yesterday it was cleaned and put away for another day. The easy open notch on the 85 just didn't feel right in use (I guess I hold my knife like a drumstick, sort of, and use my ring and pinky for handle control - and I've been playing drums for 25 years so that is what feels natural). And the bulbous blade was not ideal for some of the delicate tasks like opening a blister pack.

It has been replaced by.... (drumroll).....

Which one? Don't you have like a half-dozen of them? Lol...

It does make a good user.

Shhhhhhhh........... I could carry a different one every day of the week, and nobody would be the wiser. Yours looks quite nice.

It is a very good candidate for extended carry. It’s slightly slimmer in the pocket than many scouts. Versatile tools. Nearly completely sunken joints. Really, good fit and finish for such a complicated knife. The whole incredible history of this model makes it a lot of fun. And that Rogers bone looks oh so sweet. Decent carbon steel too. It’s got a little bit of everything.

Just found this thread. I can relate...
Back in 2005, the year I became a knife-nut and first found this forum, I bought an expensive non-traditional knife made with CPM-S30V, one of them thar super steels.
I bought it with my credit card, all $150 worth. It was way outta my budget, but I fell hard for the Harsey T2 Ranger in French walnut.
I was a fulltime student also working fulltime then. There was no money for more/other knives, and I was too busy for computer leisure time so I dropped outta the forum.

I carried that Harsey for nearly a decade.
I ended up wearing out the liner-lock!

A year is not a decade, but you may wear part of that sucker out.
Looking forward to the timelapse of your pics at any rate. Best with it!
