thanx westllen! it's been a few weeks since i posted anything, but i think all are cranked out for holidays and my better half pointed out they were a pretty pair. single or alone, i do love them.

Those to look great from you again, Nice Pair. Did you catch up on all your orders for this Year?

I think the natural Micarta is a nice color myself. If the pair doesn't sell let me know I might get the hunter on it's own. Still enjoying the two I bought from you.

It's almost funny how sharp the knife is, I can shave hair from my forearm no problem, it could be a razor.

Talk to you next year Eddie and Lora, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from Canada :)

thanks martin! glad to know i have a backup! i haven't forgotten the special special either...mind's always a whirlin.
God bless!

I'll take the Model: IX Utility/Hunter if still available, email pp at lacourla at earthlink dot net

thanks,
drew

sorry lacoula, if the set doesn't sell, spearz wants the utility/hunter. i'll be glad to make one for you after the holidays, though. thanks for the offer!

and i forgot to answer spearz b4, yes...all caught up and waiting for the next onslaught! i'm almost to serial number 40 on my 9's!

Oh, misunderstood when I saw the prices listed individually....do you work with other steels as well?

Boy you have been a busy boy. I got #16 Nov 21. Are you getting any time off for good behavior and making an excellent product?

I do hope the pair sells? Maybe Dr. D needs another pair?

You can always make another one for me Eddie later I am in no rush, if you have some of the Red & Black Linen micarta you used (serial 003) I get that on the handle?

Did you ever figure out how to do a stag tip with that blade?

ok, lemme address a few of ya-
lacourla, yes i have worked with D2, but prefer 440-C's look and finish. i also answerred back your PM with more details.

woodysone, yes i've been a busy boy! just started my rest yesterday, but i really like making the number 9's!

Spearz- I was just offering up the pair last nite in the case that someone else needed a present. I'll split them anytime, so ya'll let me know. i'll do a r&B micarta in my next batch, bud! hopefully, the stag tip revelation will come to me during my rest!

God bless you all! Eddie

Here's Lora with pertinent info-

Everyone be safe this holiday and every day.

lacourla honestly try one of the 440C I am sure you like it.

Eddie, have a good rest you deserve it, I bet you worked hard last year filling orders, we'll see what happens to the pair or not and talk in the future New Year about what's available.

Please let me chime in here if I may.. I was hesitant about 440C at first. But I figured what the hey, I'll give it a shot purely based on what I knew of Eddy's Reputation. Well, nearly half a dozen knives later, and as many of my good Hunting and Fishing pals including two ornery cousins that are extremely hard to please, all of whom are using these fine cutters with all the compliments and accolades that keep coming from this crew of mine, I figure we are in very good hands where Eddy White is concerned. Eddy has my full confidence on every aspect of the knife he builds for me, especially his 440C steel which I have grown very fond of.

Eddy grinds this steel well and fine and he has got a fabulous heat treat and finishing process that is precisely consistent on every blade. Every knife comes to its owner shaving sharp. Its a snap to resharpen on my soft Arkansas stone when it requires a quick touch up. The steels' care and maintenance is very easy and some may say care free.

Give Eddy's 440C a try and you will be well pleased.

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE AND PLEASE HAVE A VERY BLESSED & SAFE HOLIDAY SEASON!:)

I just got a Model IV as a gift. Sheep horn scales!
I second Sunnyd's opinion of Eddie's work. I'm an accumulator but I don't accumulate junk. Fortunately I haven't had to cull any of the makers I've bought here. A great bunch of makers. Seems nobody lists anything until they reaach a realistic level of competance.
I don't know how Eddie puts out the quality of work he does in the time he does it. I guess the answer is the same one I gave a fella once when he asked how I knew a hand was fractured:"That's what I do".

Thanks for the feedback on Eddie's 440C guys....I have already placed an order with Eddie and will getting the knife within the next few weeks.

In the short while I been buying and using different types of knives and steels I've learned that when a maker recommends and prefers a certain type steel, that's the one you go with (not to mention I know a good deal when I see one :) )!

You are obviously a very smart fellow Drew!. And you apparently catch on rather quickly! .;) :) :D

Here is my all time favorite hunter/skinner/utility knife and sheath which I love!

Its made in nearly indestructible 440C full tang construction by Eddy White at my request with big chunky sheep-horn scales. :D Did I mention I love this custom knife!..

Sunny: Your photos show great detail of Eddies' fine workmanship. He hollow grinds with a 10 inch wheel and stops his grind line right at the top edge of the blade. It takes a steady hand and years of experience. His grind thins the blade to a good working thickness and creates a natural taper to the tip. 440C stainless is an excellent steel and like all of the "modern" steels needs the right heat treatment which Eddie seems to have mastered.

As best as I can tell from reading the above posts, the model 9 may still be for sale for $95. If that is in fact so (?), I will take it.

Eddie, if it is available, please PM or email me the paypal info, and I will settle right up.

Thanks. :) Email enroute to you.
