A new knife

If am curios about the make and model of a knife I like, but am not familiar with, I use that as an opportunity too engage in conversation with members. I've found that there are tons of friendly people here willing to chat, teach and become friendly with.

"Everyone has their cross to bear. Mine is made out of lead and covered in fire ants."

Did you buy that on E-Bay?

And yes: Listing the info on the knife pictures is a GREAT idea!

I hate to admit it but he's right. Most of us know a lot of the models but who knows who is going to stumble across the pics months or years from now. It will also cut down on the "what is that" comments. I'll try to work on doing it going forward.

When you post pics of knives in any forum/thread please post the make and model of the knife. I doubt everyone on BladeForums knows what every knife, past and present is, just from a pic. I've seen many beautiful knives in various threads but have no idea of maker/model. It would be most educational for us if all would post the maker/model when you post pics of knives. I've been a knife collector/user for 70+ years, but have no idea what some of these wonderful knives are.

Thanks so much
Rich
Is there an issue with you engaging with other members and asking to know more?

I'm 50/50 on this one, I do agree, because I'm one of the guys that also comments and asks what the knife is lol But I'm always worried that I'll clutter the thread or derail a thread that's mostly pictures, and I don't want to add too many plain short comments.

Another example is when im going through a thread I haven't seen in a while, and a few pages back I find a knife that has no name that I really like, but I can't go through 10+ pages to see if someone already asked about it or not.

Either way I'll survive. I like engaging with you guys any time, but I also don't want to add anything unnecessary to some awesome long standing threads.

When browsing threads, I find myself pausing longer at the picture posts that also have model names/numbers. I scroll up and down, from picture to text, “learning” the models and blade/scales variants and remembering the ones I particularly like.
I’m thankful for those who take the time to add a description. But it’s also fine if people don’t want to.
