A new knife

What PPI do you recommend?
MS Paint is pretty useful for reducing photos in size, for posting online. There's a Pro version out there too, but I've just been using the basic version because it does everything I need. You can even use it to add labeling of your knives if you want. It certainly helps me publish a large newsletter and send it out to the Intertubes without using the bandwidth equivalent of a small nation in the process. If you're just posting stuff on forums or social media, there's very few instances where you have to have a maximum size image.

I have an idea (I receive an allotment of 1 per week) that maybe people don't list info on the knife pic they post to make it more difficult for the significant other to find out how much was spent.

I was smart enough to keep my finances separate for the brief time I lived in a black hole. Despite that, the empty, frozen wasteland I was attached to did their best to discern what I spent money on. Definitely not knives, her gravity well ensured much of my collection was sucked into an alternate reality, along with cash I didn't have. Good thing I paid extra for a light speed capable escape pod.

For all the smart-aleck answers, is it so hard to write a caption for your pictures? Seriously, it takes even less effort than I'm applying here.

Ohh, eeh, ahhh, it's so hard... to press these keys... ohhh, the drudgery...

Be polite. Say what it is. You get could get hit by a bus tomorrow, or get really into ASMR, or just stop frequenting Blade Forums. Some kid could sign up years down the road and think the knife in your picture is the coolest thing he's ever seen. You can pay it forward with a favor to that kid for the low cost of like five seconds when you post it.
Be Polite? Like not implying that when people don't post captions they are lazy? Polite like that?

And if this "kid" can't figure out what the "coolest thing he's ever seen" is, whether by research or asking, he probably shouldn't be around sharp things anyway.

Is there an issue with wanting to know what a knife is without having to spend 2 hours a day checking PM’s?
Is that what it takes to identify a knife from the EDC thread these days? Good golly that is just silly. See my above comment about some people who shouldn't be around sharp things if that really is the case. Seek help. 2 hours in PMs a day lol!
This is a new profile on a new email address since switching to Apple from Samsung. I was a gold member previously.

The confrontational nature of many of the long-term and high-post-count members here only serves to harm the hobby and push people away from this forum.

My question stands.
This explains a lot. Sensitive feels have been hurt in the past. Don't let that blind you going forward in these discussions. You'll look like an ass if you aren't careful. And your question does not stand, as it is silly.

Is there an issue with posting the name of a knife along-side the picture so that people can more efficiently look it up for themselves?
Not everyone has the time to do the quote-posting back and forth, or to message directly. I believe it would make picture threads a lot more enjoyable.
There is no issue. Folks should post what they want. If a person can't be bothered to do a bit of research on a knife they see, or ask the poster or other members for more info, then how important is the knife to them, really?

What a silly thread. I guess people are too lazy to figure out what they like on their own these days. Sad...

Lol ok.

If there is steak and people don't list what type/cut I'll throw a fit.
OP will have the top butt steak well done. As in well done enough to require a knife (hacksaw?)

OP is just so unreasonable !

If I take a few seconds to label my knife pics , it might somehow detract from my 100% focus on short term self-gratification .
