A new knife

Some people just want to watch the world burn.

A lot of info on the 'net is still free. I've run the Japanese Sword Index since 1995 and it's still totally free. Also ran a site on Finnish puukko and Nordic knives, but very little interest back then. When I started using the 'net (pre GUI), it was all free.

I didn't make the request just for myself, so let's not make it personal. A lot of info on the 'net is still free. I've run the Japanese Sword Index since 1995 and it's still totally free. Great, so it's settled. You're free to look up the various knives you see here for further info on them! I'm glad we had this talk! :D

You could also add a link so we don’t have to go looking or leave the forum we are in now right?
No, not if the link is to an active auction site or from a non-participating dealer. There are many links that we are not allowed to add.

If a blade lacks markings or a shield on a folder I can see the OP's request.

Didn't look very hard and yes, I don't like open knives on animals - dangerous.
But you have missed the whole point of the starting post and my replies.
I'm out. bye.
I'm not much of a fan of "I'm out of here posts". Better is when the phone don't ring, you'll know its not me.

Adding the name of the knife in the image filename can be helpful also. When viewing the image uploaded directly to Bladeforums the filename is shown at the bottom. Can give a starting hint for those that are not sure.

I'm a big fan of amicable conversations. :)

That's one small benefit of me having to use Imgur I guess, is that when I make a post there I have to add a title, so when I link it here and someone goes to it, it has the knife name there.

You are absolutely correct about outside links.

However the OP in this case specifically mentioned his post in the Traditional Knives section, which is part of BladeForums and perfectly fine to link to.

Oh right. Since the update, Bladeforums is much better at integrating the Imgur images. Doesn't it load the whole Imgur album instead of just an individual image now?

Yes it does, you can swipe through the album right there in the post instead of opening a new page
