What exactly is the purpose of a nessmuk?

To cut things

Really..... just about every knife design out there can be positioned by people to do this or that. This design was make famous by George Washington Sears.

In my eye, it has lots of belly for skinning, enough point to drill, and enough flat cutting surface for whittling, and notching.

Much more versatile than the "Ninja spinal puller" in this example below:

Cocobolo and goncalo alves for those of you who are wondering

as promised, two little ones about 7" OAL same materials as the first one. Decided to go with goncalo alves and madrone.
