A new Sword - sheath pics added post#40

The guard kinda reminds me of a Greek shield:

Reminiscent of a dao. That's a fun piece. Could you possibly send me a PM and let me know how much something like that would cost?

That is a blade I would like to own Stuart . I rarely see knives or swords and think, man I would buy a blade like that and this is one of them.
I like your interpratation using the elements of the samuari sword with your own design.
This is the thinking that sets your work apart, it develops a style that says Stuart Branson from across the room.

Thanks again.

Geez Jason, that means a whole lot to me. I can never thank you enough for that course at Dave Lisch's. I learned so much and there isn't a knife I do where I don't think back to that and try to remember a little something.

ya, I wouldn't even worry about a maker's mark if I were you lol! Your knives say all that need to be said.

That is one of the coolest looking swords I've ever seen in my life. What a fantastic, original design!

Very artistic. I love how you incorporate and meld different historical designs into your own version, and you do it in a very subtle and harmonious way.

Stuart That is what I call the real deal it looks ready to rock and roll I love the way the hamon breaks up at the tip to look like clouds or bullet holes.

I get excited when I see that you have posted Stuart! Every offering seems better than the last.:thumbup::thumbup:

Even the photos are making THIS grown man cry in delight.

Do you have a halo around your head...???? ;)

Stuart i enjoy everything you post you can see the progression in your work that is a SWEEEET SWORD thank's for posting

Thanks again everyone. I'm overwhelmed at the response. I really appreciate all the comments.

Here's a couple more pics with the sheath complete. The "strapping" on the sheath is to tie into the handle treatment and to hearken to the strapping on old scabbards. Again, in this package I'm trying to convey a sense of the old.

I'm delivering the sword tonight and as far as I know he still doesn't know about it.

My "lightbox" wasn't cooperating today with some clouds and trees getting in the way of my light source, but here goes. :p

And this is just because I really like this view. The shape of the handle and the flare at the end appeals to me.
