A new thought on the survival shows oln Discovery

Only one of these shows I have watched was I think Man/Woman/Wild. The ex-special forces or seal dude and his foxy wife. The episode I saw they were in Africa and the land rover stopped. Lost all interest in the show when he spent some ungodly amount of time trying to start a fire in primitive fashion...

... All the while the land rover set nearby, a tank filled with one of the most flamable forms of fuel known to man (gasoline) and a tremendous spark generating device AKA a battery.

I think he impressed the babe, but I was much less so. So much for your reality survival shows.

actually, in that scenario, the vehicle was out of gas...though the spark could have been used to light some dry grass (assuming the battery wasn't dead for some reason).

Good point CPL. As far as Bear drinking his own urine, I can't find a single survival book that advocates that (then again, I haven't read them all) and frankly, I'm surprised that being a former SAS soldier, he would still go ahead and do it. Lofty Wiseman strongly advices against it.

I'd have to be in a really bad situation to even attempt it but if it was all I had I would probably bite the bullet if it meant staying alive.
