A "New" Vantage I didn't know about.

Here's a new one on me. It's a Vantage Select (#345) but instead of the nylon handle with the molded in shield, it has the Dymondwood handles with the metal shield like the Avid. Has anyone seen these before? These are the sellers pictures, will take more when I get the two I ordered.

Looks just like my 346. Guess it has the "lower end" steel in it though? Could be best of both worlds for a user. Improved looks but nice price.

There is also a 345 prototype out there with odd "wood" pattern handles. Looks like the paperstone done in an odd brown color.

I just sent you a link in a PM. There are 8 more available. Great price too!

Oh thanks Plum, I just realized by that question that I was soliciting deal spotting. Sorry to the mods.

The reason for my question was that maybe the scales have been swapped but that obviously answers that question.

That is Blue dymonwood scales. The original project (that never was done) called for a 346 blade.

Too bad, those scales are cool! I hope Buck makes them available with different colors! (eventually) :D

I will take them with any of Bucks steel! I dont consider any Buck steel "lower end" :D 420HC is great stuff for EDC!

I don't like any of you guys, I am having non-300 desires. Now I have to go outside in the 98 heat (110) with humidity, and beat my self with a rake handle till I quit thinking these thoughts......you've already caused me to stretch out one of my 303pocket pouches.....I am not gonna say what I just did with Paypal...

I like that pocket sheath idea 300! You don't have to say, we know.... ;) Those Vantages are hard to beat! Its right up there with my 303!

I got one on the way-thanks for gettin me in dutch with the wife Plum:eek::confused::(

ahh she'll get over it:thumbup::D:p:).....cant pass up a rare deal like this. Thanks Jeff for the inside scoop.

I have one of those Vantages you pictured. I added one of those goofy little screw-on thumb studs. The extra weight makes it deploy like a champ and I like having the thumb stud just in case the blade doesn't deploy completely. The hole is unwieldly for my arthritic thumbs. I carry the smaller model, along with a 303 and a 112FG on my belt. I'd feel plumb nekkid without at least 3 knives on me. I really like the larger Vantage when I'm wearing my bib overhauls---fits right in the ruler pocket on the leg.

Sixty eight degrees here in the Colorado high country and the humidity....Naw, we don't have any of that!!

Jack

Thanks Jeff:thumbup: Do you know how many were produced?

I can't find any evidence we did any... But still looking... The Seller pics are hard to see the color.. When Plumber gets them in hand, I need to know if they are blue, green or charcoal. I can tell they are not red ;p
We do have a project going that has a charcoal handle and 345 blade, but they have not reached stores yet. I'm looking to see what has sold etc...

JH,

Perhaps you should check the back door of your store:eek:

The first two should be here tomorrow. I'll get some pictures posted and try to get a better representation of the color.
