So I noticed my last 454 thread was closed.. bummer. But I was having so much fun watching everyone rave about their 454's, so I'd like to try again. Also, I was just trolling a well known auction site which is usually well known for price gouging, and I came across a listing for an 0454 that wasnt too bad at $650 with only 12hrs to go. Its out of my budget but I know a lot of people are still really anxious to get one.. might be a good chance. I will be clear that it is not my listing and I have no affiliation with that knife, I'm not trying to sell anything.. this is just a friendly heads up. If I'm in violation of forum rules somehow, I sincerely apologize.. I'm still pretty new.

If anyone wants to post cool pictures or talk about the 454, please keep it friendly.

Very Respectfully,

- me

I'm glad you started another thread
If another YoYo jumps in all we have to do is ignore them;)

I feel like every thread has a timer on it counting down to that eventual moment where someone ruins it, but lets hope this one goes for a while. The only way I'll be able to experience the 454 is by living vicariously through all of you guys.

The 454 looks so sweet, though I must admit I don't know much about the model except that it's beautiful. Is this a limited run zt? I know bm has gold class knive, is this similar? I mean is there different classifications of zt's? I've owned a few and currently only own 566. With that said no zt that's ever come my way looked that good.
Great looking piece you have there wazu.

I really like the grind on the 454 blade, congrats to those who scored one.

I am actually surprised how big it is. When I see pictures of it I always get the impression that it's more the size of a gentleman's carry.. but then I see someone holding it and I'm like.. damn. BTW, thanks to wazu013 for getting a pic up for us in this thread.

It won't go cheap, most bids come in in the last few seconds. In fact it's already over 700, I'd wager it will hit 900.

I enjoy the drama this knife has stirred up.

I know very little about the knife (construction) itself other than it is not really my taste. I can see why it would appeal to you guys though.

Enjoy it if you got one!

Well....it didn't take long for a trolling yoyo hater to show up and ruin things! Time to lock the thread. :D

When I got mine in the mail I opened the package and handled the knife for about a minute then quickly put it back and stored it away. I am just so impressed by the size, the lack of weight, the fit and finish and the ergos, that I had to put it away or it would have ended up in my pocket. I have lost knives in the past however, and the 0454 is probably the most valuable knife I own so I can't see myself carrying it. Do all IKBS knives open as smoothly as this? This thing just screams open! This is my first ZT, and I can see myself buying more in the future.

I'll go ahead and add to the eye candy here. This thing truly is a beauty to look at and to hold. Certainly much more comfortable than I had anticipated for such a large folder.

Anyway, here's mine. #239

@ bro5.0 - that's one heck of a first ZT.. not much for getting your toes wet..eh? I cant be sure because I've never handled the 454.. but if its like the 0562.. then I'm sure it's fantastic. I can imagine it's probably even better..

I have always bought Spyderco, but ZT's latest offerings have really attracted me. I have had a pre-order for an 0562cf for a long time and I can't wait to get it so I can actually carry it.

I'll offer a comparison with the 0562 in a few days. I have one coming in the mail and I'm really excited about it. This was the first KVT knife I've ever handled and I'm confident that as long as the detent is well done on the 0562 it'll fire out just as well.

I let my brother handle it before I put it away. He opened it and thought I was joking when I told him it's NOT assisted. It's that fast.

ZT doesn't use IKBS.

I've been carrying mine pretty much continuously since it showed up Thursday morning, and I'm impressed with it. It looks and feels great, and it carries entirely better than the 0777 because it's shaped so much more narrowly. Here's a shot I took about an hour after mine arrived:

. . . and here is a quickie close-up of the braze welded composite blade:
