a non-threatening EDC?

Busse battle mistress.

sorry... it's opposite day here.

i vote for a slipjoint, or a buck 112. they're pretty well-received, since they tend to remind the sheeple of grandpa. old timer makes great knives or all shapes and sizes, and inexpensive as well. carbon steel - you can't beat it!

peace.

Does anyone have any experience with the Benchmite 310 from Benchmade? How does it compare to lets say a Spyderco Navigator or Mouse?

I guess I'm somewhere in between the extreme points of view here. Or maybe I'm on the outside of both? :)

My personal preferences run strongly against the "black knife" style, but I like most other elements of the tactical school. So I look for knives in interesting materials and colors that still provide real cutting ability, one-handed opening, serious locks, and fast presentation.

My primary EDC is a Camillus Aftermath, with the lower-areas of the flame pattern anodized a deep blue for constrast. It's a huge, unsubtle knife, with a very "loud" decoration, but people still tell me how pretty it is. And when people ask me what I need such a vicious weapon for, I tell them that most knives can't cut a bagel in one stroke.

I suggest a SAK.

Personally, I couldn't care less about what someone else thinks about my knives. I'm going to use and carry whatever knife I like the most.

How about a Busse, or a Mad Dog ATAK II? Maybe a Kabar USMC? Microtech makes some sheeple friendly knives...

As everyone already knows, I would go with my ka-bar :D

In all seriosness a SAK or a gerber lst are my chouces for sheeple friendly knives.

Im gonna vote Mnandi though personally my (new) large classic sebenza is about as sheeple-friendly as i'm willing to get. its a lot friendlier than the skirmish, shadow3 and even the ritter grip that i was carrying before :D
