Hi!
A.W.U.K.
: Thanks! True, many times, especially when I was young, I have been very “goal oriented”

in my hikes and only focused on getting on that specific peak. With the family, a lot has changed and I am truly enjoying my “being on the way”, the journey taking me there. With the kids today we stop almost every half an hour or so

and I am not so annoyed anymore. It’s nice to sit down in a clearing and watch the sun rays piercing the canopy while eating a sandwich; stopping by a waterfall, a spring, a small pond and playing with the splashes; taking the time to follow a butterfly or watching the busy activities of the ants in the woods

. Even if, at the end of the day we have just covered 1/3 of what was planned, it doesn’t matter. We have been together and had some good time and memories.

: Hi! Yes, we also have ravens (actually it’s more carrion crows) but it’s more likely to meet them in the plains here rather than up in the mountains. Where I live we have a few and they even sets colonies in the old farm houses around here, together with the swallows and, recently also the storks are back

: Thanks for appreciation! Glad you enjoyed the reading and the pics

! There are many great posts of fantastic journeys I read here! Since this keeps me good company and allows me to virtually travel around the world in places I’ll probably never manage to visit, I try to “give back” some

. Yes, I know I’m lucky to have this “playground” one and a half hour driving from my door! Surely I’ll post more. Next weekend we’re planning to go up in the valleys for some transhumance country fairs, let’s see if I’ll have some decent pics to share

: Thank-you! Yes, it was since some years now I was not going for overnight. I have missed something

! Plan to take my elderly son with me next time. Wife and daughter are not so much “camping girls”

and the little one it’s still too young.
Take care!
