Hike on Sunday afternoon in the Foothills above my home.
Looking further to the west you can see the coastal plain (super flat) which is mostly Orange County and a bit of Los Angeles County. You see the coast line. The dots in the water are offshore oil derricks, the island just past them is Catalina Island, and beyond and to the left of Catalina is San Clemente Island.
Here is a map of where I was in relationship to the coast and Catalina. 70 miles away!

I can't believe how clear the shot from the mountains is.
Here is a picture from this summer when two of my good riding buddies and I drove our motorcycles up to Prudhoe Bay (Deadhorse Camp). This was taken of a glacier in northern British Columbia.
We covered 9400 miles in 15 days, quite a trip. I take one long tour on the cycle every year. For 2010 it will be the New England Lobster Tour. I will take a JK knife with me on the 2010 trip!
