I was sitting on my porch this morning having coffee when I noticed a package sitting outside my gate. It was dropped off by UPS sometime last evening and I didn't know it.

It is the Koa Flamewood 110 I ordered from the custom shop just a little over two weeks ago. :thumbup:

I actually like the wood in my older one better than this one. I sorta wish I'd gone with the rivets also, but since I already had one with them, I didn't. They're both nice, just different.

Nice pickups Plum-I like her, good graining and I think no ritots looks good esp since you already have one.:thumbup:
 
I like them both,the handles on that new one are SWEET! The blade on the new one, S30V and BOS TOO! Man,that's a knife. I had a pleasant surprise this morning myself,I finally figured out how to use the Ignore list option. LMAO:D
 
Both are nice. I notice on your S30V it looks like the markings are acid etched, or maybe stamped. True? The S30V I ordered from the Custom Shop last your was laser etched on the tang.

Rivets in the old days were functional, but these days with modern super-epoxies they are really just decorative. I think I prefer keeping things functional (no rivets) but that's just me. Even the non-rivet ones have pins or rivets (or maybe screws) you just don't see them as they go into the scale from inside the frame.

Personal taste, I'd say.
 
That is a Gorgeous knife!!! Congratulations! I think I like the wood
on your new one better, but they are both Super Nice.

The S30V on my new one is stamped.

I wondered how the flame wood and NS looked. Very nice... :thumbup:

I like that it doesn't have the Designers choice stamp too.

Yep you should be getting rivets on those wood knives.
Not impressed with the KOA on your new knife.

Nobody here willing to be honest?

Those slabs are not worthy of the Custom Shop. Compared to the first one (which is excellent, I have one just like it) the wood looks like bleached out crapwood.

Whatever it is, it shouldn't be called KOA.

The Plumber needs to send it back.
