A pleasant surprise this morning.

Very good knives.
I like the wood on a handle too.
Sorry what does it mean: I sorta..... ?

Igor,

"I sorta like the wood" That mean I like the wood maybe, but not really sure that I like it a lot. So it's being slightly non-commital.

The knife looks like the Shoppe was wishing and hoping somebody would accept those slabs. Naturally they'd rather sell them than throw them in the garbage (which is where they should be).

The reason I think it should go back is that if knives like that are accepted by the buyer......they'll be thinking they can palm off stuff like that on the rest of us.

I sure don't want to get sub-standard wood and have to go through the trouble of sending it back.

Standards go down as low as the customer will accept......and on this one the standards went too low.

I always speek my mind, which is why i'm even acknowledging your rude and ignorant coments,Myself,I think i like that wood, maybe even better than his older one,I don't see any flaws in that knife whatsoever,my standards aren't so low i'd accept garbage,I would be more than happy with that knife.

Wood is natural,if they chucked all of the wood away that isn't "perfect",I bet they wouldn't end up with much.

If you want to bash ,do it someplace else where we don';t have to listen to your mouth. You act like the handles are split or something,it was built in the custom shop,I'm sure it was looked at well before being sent out.

Razor, try using the ignore setting. It's worked for me and several others quite well. I just wish people would stop "quoting", (:D) because that's the only time I see any of the "ignored" members posts.

Clearly, it was not checked out by anyone who cared or knew the difference between crapwood and acceptable quality wood.

This is not a matter of taste or subjective opinion.....that wood is an inferior grade of KOA and should never have been used.

Your alright Razor!!! :D I like that woood also ;) Maybe we should sign up for a giveaway :D (LOL)

(just teasing Dave) ;)

 :D That quote feature sure is a bummer...... :D

I couldn't care less about the "mean girls" of the forum putting me on ignore. I think that's their best option, since they can't handle it gracefully when someone disagrees with them.

What surprises me is that Buck has this thread on ignore. It would be in their best interests to straighten this out and offer to put some acceptable slabs on that 110.

This thread is not on ignore.

I am not hearing this particular customer complaining. Plumber...you said you liked one set of inlays better then the other but are you unhappy with the knife?

Edge? Am I missing something?

I like the knife CJ, I would just have preferred that it have a little more "flame" in the Flamewood. I'm not about to send it back! ;) I'm proud of anything I get from Buck.

I don't think anybody has missed anything on this knife and I'm not the only one who has commented on the ugly wood. To me, Custom Shop and ugly are not compatible.

I think I have five knives from the Custom Shop now.......I would not risk ordering another after seeing that wood.

Most of us hate sending things back......and we shouldn't have to send things back to the Custom Shop due to ugly.

Flat, you did a great job on those Bucks! Sure hope ya didn't have to knock those horns off a Buffalo, man them's some mean critters:eek:

OK,so you are saying bgedge, that by looing at a "picture"of the knife, that you are now telling us all here that the knife is inferior in some way because of the wood?

It looks great to me,If you don't want to order any more customs that won't hurt my feelings, more for me!

I don't know how anyone can complain about a knife on a website, without actually having the knife in their hands, seems kinda foolish i think...

Dave, I like both your Koa's. I've been carrying my brass framed Koa w/o rivets, and I've gotten plenty of compliments on it. Have you noticed a waterfall effect in the wood grain, at different angles in the sunlight?

Thank you. What I did notice today, that the wood has almost a holographic effect in the right light. The "flame" shows up quite abit out in good light. I'm liking it more and more.

LOL!

Maybe we should have a contest to see who can come up with the most far-fetched defense of the crapwood.

Now that I look close I think maybe I see a stunning flaming KOA 3D Nativity Scene and a beautiful sunset with the Rocky Mountains in the background.

:D :D :D

No......can't lie. That's about the worst wood I've ever seen on a knife, period.

I bet nobody has ever accused you of being quick to get the gist of a conversation.

:D

Good reason not to totally judge a knife by an online photo. The 5 sambar stag 110s I posted look much better in the real light of day. The photos did no justice. (SO... I need to get a good digital camera.)
