So i have been looking forward to buying a around 100$ knife and i get to the checkout and right before i click buy i freeze, and end up not getting it.
I dont know whats going on because iv bought well over 100$ in cheaper knives and rotate and carry them frequently and never hesitate to buy a cheaper blade (eskabar 33$ didnt even think twice). But i cant click the purchase button on more expensive knives and i dont know why. The next day after i dont buy it while im at work i think okay okay i regret not getting it i should buy it but when i get home the same thing happens.

Whats wrong with me :( ?

Sounds like you don't see the value in a knife over $100. Some people do and some people don't.

I know when I bought my first higher priced knife (Benchmade Kulgera), it was a little scary. Once I had it in my hands, I immediately realized why I always wanted it. Unfortunately, I keep buying expensive knives. :(

i think im scared, money is tight, not like poor but every thing bought counts, and im scared i wont be happy or wont see the value, espically since there is no where even close that sells anything even close to spydercos and benchmades.

I've learned (the hard way) to listen to the "little voice" inside me. It sounds like your "little voice" is trying to tell you something.

Think about this, if you bought that $100 knife, how would you feel about carrying it and using it (presuming that's what you would do with it)? Would you be constantly worried about losing it or dropping it, scratching it up, etc?

If you're not going to enjoy owning a knife then perhaps you shouldn't buy it and save your money.

Also, I'm sure there are many knives under $100 that will serve you quite well. A knife doesn't have to cost $100 or more to be a quality knife.

Of course it's possible that if you actually pulled the trigger and bought the knife that you might be very glad you did. Who knows, it's all a matter of your own personal psyche.

I will contemplate an expensive purchase for quite a while before I make a final decision. And then when I finally decide to pull the trigger, I am 100% certain that I am doing the right thing. But that's just me.

My experience...bought a bunch of 40-80 dollar knives at first. Then bought one 200 dollar knife. Then realized what a waste it was to spend hundreds on "junk" knives and wished I'd STARTED with the 200 dollar blade that fulfilled the role(s) of all the cheaper ones. Just my personal experience.

The problem begins when you buy that $200 knife and think "I wonder what a 500 dollar knife feels/performs like..." Then the real trouble starts.

I stabbed that little voice to death, then buried it under a heaping pile of steel.

im worried about getting something that cant be replaced, i tend to lose things and thats what im scared of, right now my edc today is eskabar, yesterday buck vantage select, day before gerber icon, there all great knives but they dont seem idk, unique they are functional but dont have that pride of ownership and coolness that i like, but i haven't really seen any cheap blades that got that.

If you really want that knife, considering putting up some cheaper knives for it on the trade forums. In my experience, it's easier to get a more expensive knife by trading cheaper ones I don't like so much, so it doesn't cost me anything and I still get a sweet knife. Also, check the company's warranty. If they have a good one, you should be able to wear it out and if you have any problems they'll fix them for you, so no harm done.

wearing out is a part of use, im not worried about that, im worried about it getting lost, and iv lost knives before, and never found them again.

Try a bright lanyard or make sure it's in it's sheath attached to your belt... Are we discussing folders or fixed here BTW?

Pocket clips.
I never lost a knife since the wonders of pocket clips came about.:)

I lost a knife twice while it was clipped in my pocket

Were mostly referring to folders here, even though i do like fixed blades, they are kinda hard to carry though, i tie para cord around my waste when i carry my eskabar (like a string through the factory sheath and then around my waste and tie a bow and carry it handle down) And the issue with the belt sheath is that i dont wear a belt.

This, or selling all but one and using that money on top of what you have, to get what you really want. Just keep one out of what you have to hold you until you rder what you want!

Indeed. I recommend a clip from Cold Steel :)

Hahahaha

Clipping them into your pocket pushes your pants down to your ankles.
Attempting to remove them gives you a wedgie.

OP- you can get a decent folder at a decent price. You have lot's of choices. Go man!

Really. Money is tight and that is making you hesitant to dish out $100 on a knife?

Two days ago in another thread you started on BF you said

Well let me start with, im thinking about high end carry and have been for a very long time. By high end carry i mean like 250+$.

Alot of you guys out there edc some expensive knives and think nothing of it, because its just normal to you. Now i have like 350$ right now that i could spend on a knife and i know it wont hurt me and i don't need the money its just extra cash chilling.

Are we starting this again, ChrisFarms? You've started so many threads you are losing track of what you said in them!

Back on topic, wasn't your practice to buy a knife, and if you didn't like it, then return it?

You can do that with a higher priced knife too. If you have something in mind, then just buy it.

I have extra money, but money is still tight, once i spend it its gone, its not like ill have a extra 250-300 bucks chilling on the table again in 2 weeks, i buy something thats it for now.
So to contradict myself, money is not penny pinching tight, but i cant just throw it away either
