Wait a month and see if you end up wanting a different knife more. Otherwise you could end up like some friends of mine  If you want the same knife and keep coming back to it, get it!

I think you need knife therapy. One common approach is exposure, wherein the subject buys a Sebenza of some sort, thereby exposing him or her to what s/he fears the most. This is typically followed by regret, often the cause of so many secondary market Sebenza sales, and it all ends in tears. :(

My first over-100-bucks knife is an Ontario RTAK II. at first, I really made him as a drawer queen (I was just a college student and I paid for the RTAK from my allowance savings). But when I went camping and brought it, (finally) used it, I understand how this big knife are meant to be used. and as now the RTAK should be happy with some rust and a little chips on the edges ;)

and as now, being an user, I bought more expensive knives---but no i cant afford more than 200 bucks!--- because I see how well they've made and they really helped me A LOT. I really like Moras and Opinels, but getting something like Spydie Gayle Bradley with CPM M4 won't hurt.

Sounds fair.

This is true but im trying not to do stuff like that anymore.

I have extra money, but money is still tight, once i spend it its gone, its not like ill have a extra 250-300 bucks chilling on the table again in 2 weeks, i buy something thats it for now.
So to contradict myself, money is not penny pinching tight, but i cant just throw it away either

Fine. So I'm not following what you are asking about. If I knew, maybe I could help. You have $350 "chilling." Burning a hole in your pocket. But you don't want to spend it. And you don't want to spend $100 either. Because you are afraid you'll lose the knife.

Here's the best advice I can give at this point. Don't lose the knife. You'd think someone for whom money is so tight would value their stuff enough not to lose it.

Buy a Para 2. They can be had for right at $100, I've never heard of a person regretting buying one, and you'll definitely see the improvement over cheaper knives. Plus you can go for a new sprint run for a little more and if you decide not to use it, you turn a profit down the road.

Im trying to figure out what you want out of this thread, advice on buying a knife or advice on not losing a knife? No matter what a knife costs, losing it is a total loss in the end. If you buy a 50$ knife and lose it then buy another youll be right back where you started. Consider buying a satchel of some sort to put all your stuff in, like a man purse. I dont lose things but I forget to bring them with me all the time, i.e keys, phone , wallet, always have a knife though, so Ive been edcing a full size maxped backpack just to keep everything together.

Sounds like another "this or that" thread to me. It's your decision to make and your loss if you lose it. If you don't, you're $100 bucks richer.

Well...in the last few days we have had a "I want to buy a $250 knife...should I?" thread...

http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/993906-High-End-Carry-Thoughts-conversation-Questions-Everything

....and this "Now I feel I don't want to buy a $100 dollar knife" thread...

both discussing that you want to get a either Microtech Select Fire manual, ZT 0550, or ZT 0560 in earth brown. Aren't you also looking at a PM 2? Didn't one of your threads mention that somewhere?

But I'm sure you aren't looking for a recommendation on a specific knife. But I'm going to give you one anyway.

Buy the Microtech (if that's still the knife you want...it has been 24 hours or so since you said it was). If you lose it, now you've earned a lesson about money that's a good one for a teenaged kid like yourself with disposable income to learn. Either the knife or the lesson will serve you well the rest of your life.
