A while back, I posted a Dozier New York Special for sale. The knife was in storage at my father's house, so instead of posting pics of the actual knife, I posted a link to A.G. Russell's site showing pics and a description of the knife.
Last week, BOBO decided to buy it from me, on the condition that it had a lanyard hole. Not having looked at the knife in over a year, I mistakenly told BOBO that it did have a lanyard hole. When I went to my dad's today to get the knife, I was mortified to find that it does not have a lanyard hole, plus there is a tiny rust spot on the handle between the scales. I just sent BOBO a PM stating I will refund his payment in full on Thursday, plus 10% for his PP fees and inconvenience. I also mentioned to BOBO that I will do anything else he may feel is necessary to square things up, including posting this public apology to him.
I really feel bad about this. This was my first sale on BFC, and I really wanted it to go well for both of us. Since it didn't, the least I can do is come here and admit I made a mistake, and do my best to make it right. The lesson I learned here? In the future, I will post pics of the actual knife if I ever put another one up for sale.
Some of the most honorable people in my experience are found here on BFC, and I don't want to be seen as a risky person to do business with. I want an untarnished reputation, like so many of you here.
Sincerely,
d dub
