I went out for an overnighter last night..... Nothing special, just a trip to clear my head, and enjoy the early fall weather.
It was a pretty lieghtweight trip, I used my Camelback Havoc(a great multi use pack IMO) I packed it up, threw it in my pickup, and headed out to the Lamine River.
Gear list-
Camelback Havoc
Slumberjack Bivy
Quilt
Camp pad
Guyot, cup, spork
PSK
FAK
Fire kit
survival necklace(dont leave home w/o it!)
Fiddleback bushcrafter
Corona Saw
SAK Farmer
Trusty blue thermal Hoodie
Gallon water, food
Pipe and tobbaco
Book
Not a huge gear list.....but enough to be comfy. Looked like rain when I left, but it held off for me, which was nice. Weve had some good rains lately, so I brouht some scrap wood to get a fire going strong b/c I was burnin daylight and didnt know about the wood situation in the valley. I didnt end up really needing it, as I found ample wood out there, but it gave me some nice kindling...
Heres the pics!
kinda intimiating driving into this to camp, but eh....
gear in the truck!
heres the site(couple hundred yards from the parking)
Nice fire pit made for me!
My gear, pack probably overloaded, but it works!
Fiddleback sweetness. I really love this blade, Andy makes a nice one! I am really fond of carrying it dangler style. Really comfy, and keeps it lower then the belt of my pack.
casa de jake
my fire kit. Jute on a sewing bobbin, PJ balls, fatwood, ferro rod, and trusty bic.
I split alot of wood with the FB. Held up just fine, and very comfy in my paws. I did also split a big 5in dia piece of cedar with it too! Flat performs.
more to come.....
