Feel your pain, lost a nice knife not long ago and looked everywhere thought I was losing my marbles, it wasn't until I almost lost the next one by a bag catching the pocket clip that I realized that must have been what happened to the last one, lifted right out without feeling a thing luckily it was hanging by the edge of my pocket and i didnt lose 2! since I lift and toss a lot of big bags around, now I take off the clips and carry inside pocket even though it's a little less comfortable in that way, hope you find it also really nice of that person to offer one if you can't!

Don, that's an awesome offer, I really appreciate it! I can't say thank you in enough ways. I'll give it a few days. I'm going to really search parking lots again this evening, and tear my car apart again. I just hope it turns up.

I've looked everywhere I can think of! Between the drivers seat is usually the culprit for me, and I did notice it rides higher tip up but I really didn't give it second thought because it seems like a fairly comfortable riding position in my pocket.

I honestly had not even had it long enough to decide wether or not I really liked it. I carry my Large 21 a lot of the time, and wanted to try out a GB2 just because I've had a few PM2's and I have always enjoyed the Spyderco knife line. I really didn't fully "get" how attached I had become to it, until it came up missing. That thing is easily top two or three on my favorite knives list, and it snuck its way in there rather quickly. I just love everything about it. It fits in my hand perfectly, the blade profile, the carbon fiber, and M4 really grew on me quickly.

Sorry for the rant and ramble. It's a tougher loss than expected. Don, once again, I thank you so much for the offer. You're a great guy for that. There truly are good people left in the world, and that is one of the main reasons I come here instead of anywhere else. I've already opened the safe and done a little digging around to see what I could find. [emoji4]

In my check your car, check your car, check you car. Every time I lost a pocket knife clipped in my pocket, it turned up in my car. Sometimes tucked in places that made no sense, and seemed to defy the natural order of the universe.

Very sorry you lost your Spyderco. If you don't find yours in a day or two, let me know.
I have two NIB GB2's. I'll send you one.
Please pay it forward some day.
best regards from an old Kansas boy...

Most excellent of you, sir.

Man, I feel your pain, my friend. I stress even when I loose a cheap knife. I would really freak out over a knife like yours.

You know, I am not a very religious man but, I have been known to say a prayer or two when I loose a knife.

I don't know if you're married. But...whenever I lose something, and I do quite often, I ask my wife to look for it. Usually takes her five minutes. She generally finds it in a place that I have already searched three times.
I did lose an important specially-ground work-knife years ago, and it really hurt. I've been lucky since then.
Good luck on finding it...
Don

LOL, I've tried that route. My wife just ask,"Well, do you remember where you had it last?"

If I knew where I last had my knife, I would not be looking for it, now.

I have asked around, searched high and low, and near and far. I tore my car apart, went through parking lots with a fine tooth comb, and nothing. I even went back out to my car this morning for another "last hope" look around. nothing. I think, unfortunately, it's safe to say it is gone for good. Someone got a really good knife. Thanks for all the kind words. And Don, you're a magical man. I second the bladeforums man of the year nomination!

We all feel for you.

Keep in mind your misfortune has given someone here the chance to reach out with a very generous offer. You don't see things like that much anymore.
Focus on that instead of your lost knife. Whoever finds it probably will not appreciate what they have and use it as a screwdriver.

I am a firm believer that a gun or knife is more fun when it has a good story to go with it. You can't get any better story than the one Don is offering.

My friend, you are absolutely right. Don is a stand up guy, and trust, his generosity will not be going unappreciated! I have really put my everything into finding it, but it seems that it's not going to happen. But, thanks to Don (Sonnydaze), I will be able to get one right back in my pocket!

This is just one of the many reasons I am so grateful to be part of the BF community. There are great people left in this world, and a lot of times we lose sight of that due to circumstances in life that get in the way of our view. I truly believe there is good in people, and it makes me feel good to know it all comes full circle.

I will be doing a giveaway soon, inspired by the kindness of Don and the rest of the guys on this thread that offered condolences and advice. You guys are amazing, and I want to thank each and every one of you for being part of this great community.

I have to say...Jay is a good guy.
I did send him a brand new GB2.
My surprise came in the mail today. Jay sent me a beautiful custom kitchen knife, by a nationally renowned knife-maker. This was completely unexpected...until he wrote me that he had decided to gift me something that I could use in the kitchen.
I took pics but I won't show them, as I respect the privacy of Bloody_Pawprint.
But I certainly am appreciative of his generosity.
An amazing happening, and very pleasing to me and my wife. Thank you, Jay.
Don

Jay wrote me and said I could post pics of the Arowana by W.A. Surls...so here they are. Already used the knife tonite to help prepare dinner. Very nice in hand...very sharp...beautiful...
