A Short Rant About Zero Tolerance

Stuff like this is exactly why the subforum was closed and the main reason I won't buy Kershaw/ZT products. You guys had your subforum and you ruined it with drivel. Please don't bring that crap into the rest of the site.

I agree Minus the I wont buy part (cuz not buying something because of crap headed posts by turds seems a bit idiotic to me). Never viewed such
Hostility in a forum and most times it seemed like unwarranted fanboyism.

The subforum wasn't shut down because of that. It was shut down because it's supposed to be a showcase for the company and a place for them to interact with the consumer in a positive and friendly manner. It turned into a sounding board for people who think they know the best way to run a knife company and people who criticize the company based off of some videos on YouTube.

Spark had a bit of a hard time trying to get 500 people to commit to a skyline group buy. I'm willing to bet Wal-Mart orders 5x that amount on a monthly basis. We're a drop in the bucket for them and yet they still push the envelope with knife design and what's possible to do in production and they still go through the trouble of participating here.

Apologies for going off topic here, but are comments such as this in line with the KAI kode of konduct?

Perfect example of why the ZT sub forum was shutdown..

Oh really? I'm the perfect example of why Kai decided to have the subforum closed? Why don't you take a minute and actually look in that subforum. I spent a lot of my free time in that subforum hanging with Kershaw/ZT enthusiasts and answering questions. I don't recognize any of you as even poking your heads in that subforum, and now you have the answer as to why the company decided to have it closed? Of course, that makes a lot of sense.

We had our subforum and it was ruined by hordes of entitled whiners who felt the need to crap all over a company who would bend over backwards to keep customers happy. It's good to know that I'm actually costing them customers though, it's cool to have that kind of influence. What ruined it is that you had a lot of people who enjoyed stirring the pot looking to capitalize on the generosity that used to be expressed when Thomas W was moderating around here. Anyone who spent a meaningful amount of time in the subforum can attest to that.

Pretty much. The general attitude of many people here is a huge reason why Kai had their subforum closed again, and why there won't be any more forum knife collaborations. It was the nasty, disgusting behavior of people and their entitled attitudes, and the "rants" that stemmed from it. Again, any real survey of the subforum will show exactly what caused its closure. Even the announcement thread was littered with it.

It's a two way street.

The same company that would close active threads because someone who bought their knives had a problem? I did poke my head in there when I was curious about their products. What I found was mob mentality on the fanboy's part, and the company itself encouraging it. I let my money talk, so I don't buy their stuff. I'm also not going to waste my time watching a group of children conduct witch hunts just because they don't like what other people have to say about their preferred knives.

Pot, meet kettle?

Well I guess you should have spent more time in there. The problem wasn't someone having an issue. The problem was a small group of people who used an isolated issue to whip up discontent about the brand.

Look no further than the 0777 dud thread that just got closed. Guy had a problem and myself and one other person were the only ones offering help. Kai suggests he go back to the dealer because it would be the quick easy way to fix it and what followed was three pages of thread crapping to the point where the op had to request a thread lock.

And to top it all off, he went back to the teacher this morning and exchanged it for a perfect one. Imagine that...

That's the type of stuff the caused the sub forum to close.

Ever since that sub closed, all I see is the KAI corp sending little snippets here and there. Again, who ever is behind the keyboard for them isn't helping a thing. Why not get your own screen name and defend them? At least tell us who you are and your official roll? I'm very curious.

?

Manufacturers are free to run their forums however they want. We have the whole spectrum here when it comes to different styles of managing a forum. What appeals to some isn't going to appeal to others. As to you watching a "group of children" conduct witch hunts, I knows quite a few people who frequented the Kai forum and they certainly aren't children so you should be careful making assumptions like that.

I'm closing this thread. The topic has shifted from knives to the company.
