A simpler one this time...Small Bowie!

Pat,

You created and interesting interpretation of the bowie that befits the province you hail from. Is the gap between the wood and metal fittings a design element or is it to allow for the wood to expand?
Is that the same as saying "Pretty good for a Canadian"?

I love the design and outcome. Yes, I'd agree the second guard is a little out of place(forward or backward a little), but I like the design. Fit and finish are awesome looking.

Thanks again guys for the good words. I know I say this often but I really appreciate it and it's a big motivation to do better. :D

Ryan, you nailed it. Heat to orange red and sculpt with the fingers. Not sure how many knives I can squeeze in though before I don't have any fingers left. ;)

Very, very nice Patrice. I'm impressed with the level of artistry and creativity you are demonstrating in your work...you should be very proud!

I'm liking what I see...very much so. I hope you don't mind if I save your pictures in my "inspiration" folder?

Paddy its those little details that I like about your blades. Something unique and cool that makes them stand out. Larry

I thought maybe you'd had Rick Marchand heat the sub-hilt with his laser vision and squeeze it to shape by hand. I did not know that you were an astral immigrant as well!

Whenever you get sick of that Evenheat, you can send it to me. I'll even pay for shipping. You're welcome.

Once again, you guys are too nice!
Pierre-Yves, cant ask for better than that.

Salem, you are mistaken, I am a mere mortal not a mystical creature like Rick. ;)
I would not send you a kiln without thoroughly testing it first. ;)

Wow Patrice... Really nice work. I really like the shapes and finish of the fittings. Beautiful stuff.

Nice work! I haven't been much of a Custom Knife collector in the last dozen or so years, but your work could make me a convert pretty quickly! Please add me to your email list, I'm in...

Melvin, I don't have a mailing list yet. With my confidence problem I never thought that I would need one. :o But I guess I'll start one and now at least I'll have ONE name on it. ;) Your comments are really nice and help with the confidence. Thanks

Ummm.....you better have two names on it :-P

Hey, Patrice, please don't mistake what I posted earlier. I was grumpy because of Monkey saying something so rude about a knife that is obviously so much better than anything he has made. By out of place, I meant that I agreed that with the wrong size hands the secondary guard could get in the way. I bet it will be a perfect fit in the hands of the right person. I love the design with the secondary guard and the bluing on the guards sets the color perfectly.

Don't worry Zaph, I understood what you meant. And thanks for sticking out for me, I appreciate!

Dismantled pic as promised:
