A Small Knife I've Been Playing With

Your reviews are top notch. Thanks for sharing anther one. I'm becoming really impressed with some of TOPS latest knives.

Thank you, I'm really glad you enjoy them. TOPS has been doing some really cool stuff design-wise lately, got my eye on a couple more.

That's a cool little blade.

I think so too.

Excellent review and pics. That little blade is a beast.

Thank you very much, and yeah it really is a little beast!

Nice little blade buddy, great pics as always. I've started carrying a little BHK Frontier trapper the last week or so, giving my Izula a vacation, really moving towards small fixed and outta folders.

Fantastic review as usual bro. I think I saw one at SMKW when I was there, but it may have just been something that looked like it. Guess I should have paid a little more attention to that section of the store.

Thanks man, yep I'm gald to see the choices in small fixed blades have expanded so much. I'd rather have a small fixed over a folder for the blade any day. As a rule they're tougher and more sanitary when used for food uses.

I think TOPS makes a few that look somewhat similar with the black and blue G-10. Pretty sure this one is the thicker of the them. I like the Indio and it has a 5/32 CPM 154 blade, the Blue Otter also has the black & blue G10 and is 3/16 thick. I like the look of the Blue Otter blade too. The Spirit Hunter looks like a good hunting blade and it's 5/32 CPM154 with black & blue G10.

And I thought the Bravo-1 overkill.

That thing is indeed a tank.

Even with a Full Flat grind it's still a wedge.

And no skeletonized tang?

IMHO, a little too much steel in a package that size.

Big Mike

thanks for sharing, i really like the looks of that knife...might have to pick one up. i bought the Lil Roughneck a week or so back and i will admit, im liking the stout little TOPS knives. this has became one of my two EDC knives, and they sure do draw alotta attention when folks see em.

I think someone already asked you about your Maxpedition EDC...I'll take it a bit farther. Is this the EDC Mini Organizer, 5" x 7" x .075" or the EDC Fatty Organizer, 5" x 7" x 2" ???

Unfortunately, I need to carry an epi-pen now. In my lifetime, I had been stung by bees, maybe a dozen times with no reaction. Last summer I was playing with my little girl at a park by the beach and I stepped on one. By the end of the day, my entire foot had swollen. The wife, being a nurse, insisted I get it checked out. According to the Doc...my levels of "allergic-ness" to bees, wasps, and yellow jackets, etc. were "unmeasurable because they were through the roof."

Yeah, but I didn't get it for a whittling knife, I got it with some rough use in mind.

I saw those when they first came out, I wondered how well the cut at that thickness. Seems to have a pretty high grind and still be really beefy.

I'm surprised I'm not allergic to them considering the yellow jacket incident in my teens where I got several stings, some in places I don't even like to think about.

From what I am told there are four sizes; The edc (which I think this is), The fatty, the mini, and the micro. This one definitely isn't a mini or a micro. I do have a mini coming that should be here at the end of the week so I will see what all it can hold.

Got it...the pictures from the various sellers on Amazon were throwing me off. I see the difference between them now, thanks.

Thanks for the info, I need to look a little closer at that one, it would actually take up less room in the kit and weighs 4 ounces less.

Thats a nice looking blade.

I thought so too, especially for an over-built knife.

If TOPS made the Lil Roughneck with 1/8" stock I think you would have a nice little knife. As it is forgetaboutit.

Thanks for the review. I really the idea of maxpedition organizer kit you put together. I am going to get on now.:)
