A smaller version of Model 9- Taking Orders

A while back, when I started this venture, I knew how to make a good knife, but wondered what it took to be successful as a maker. Well, I listened to my customers and potential customers and took their suggestions to heart and to the grinder.

I began the Model IX run in October of 2006 and have made almost 50 since then, most to the specifications of customers. I've made many of original size, but some folks wanted an inch more, so I made them. Yet another wanted even an inch more, so I made that, too. Original size, then larger, then extra large.........now I introduce the extra small, again a customer request (thanks WeWaslim!)

This little guy is 6 1/2 inches overall with a blade of 2 15/16 inches, and is only a little over an inch wide. The steel is 440-C stainless and the handle is bone. I tenderly thinned and evened the bone without cracking it anywhere and the fit and finish is really really special. I hope you can see the filework on the finger grooves. The sheath is small and tight, dark and rich.

This one's serial 047 and has an owner. I'll make another one like it for $135.

I enjoyed the hell outta making this. Thanks!

OK, I'm in!. Have your better half set me up a PP button in the usual fashion please.. OH and If'n the blade happens to grind out a little long just by chance,, well hell, that's OK too!.:p :D :D

Sunny- damn you're weak! i like that in a man. (this is lora). did you see my slipjoint post to you? check it out. i'll make you a button closer to completion. i do know it won't be serial 049 or 050 (he's got plans), but he'll get right to it. thanks honey!

Thanks Lora, your my Heroin!

ps(What slipjoint post?)
pss(email me your shop/home address as I have a knife to send back that needs just a tad of work which I will pay for of coarse.)

Thanks for the plug, Eddie. Another great knife from super folks. SunnyD, I finally beat you to the punch! Seriously, the other night I took Eddie's # IX and a D*****. I put them side to side and compared them. Shadowknives product's fit, finish, grind and initial sharpness meets or exceeds the D***** on ALL counts. At way less than half the price. I guess you can tell I like his work. Thanks again for really being a custom maker. Bill

This looks like a really good EDC. My IX is a a great user. MY GF gave me a sheep horn handled Model 3 for Christmas and it is very, very nice. I agree with WEWASLIM about the comparison. I really haven't found any flaw in Eddie's knives yet and I've looked.

Your Girlfriend must be one terrific gal there Doc. You have one beautiful knife there in that one, that is for sure!

Blessings to all,

Eddie, My "little IX" came in the mail today; it was everything I expected. Wonderful work and perfect customer service as usual. Bill

Hello there Lora and Eddie,
I received your email dated 01/27/07, time stamped 11:13pm just fine.. Looks like you may be up and running again at this time and that is good news.

No worries!. As previously stated regarding this order I definitely want it and with me you can always take that to the bank. Please feel free to set up the PP button at your earliest convenience and kindly send me an email to let me know.

Please hold up on mailing it out just yet though as I would like to contact you by telephone if you will be home today? Thanks immensely for completing my order so quickly. I look forward to receiving it.

Sunny- That is good news all the way around! Yes, I am home today and not in the shop, so please do give me a call.

Hey there my brother I'm sorry I have not chatted with ya lately but unfortunately I had to go check out my family just up north near Lady Lake, Florida which got some pretty severe twisters as of late. I am very happy to say that all is cool with my relatives and their friends other than some damage to part of their property up there.

Anyway, looking to chat with you soon. All the best to you and Lora and thanks for taking my call a week or so back.. You are the best!

Hey there Eddie,
I am very pleased with this very cool natural bone drop point hunter. In fact, it is so damn cool I started wearing it today as my latest EDC rotation in place of my slipjoint/pocketknife..

Tony,
This is Lora (aka Typhoid Mary, second weekend in a row,omg omg)....I can snag those pics for the website, ok?
Thanks

Mick57,
Thanks for your nice comment about the pictures.. Yes, the sheath is great and can be very comfortably worn on the hip, but extremely versatile as well. It can be worn concealed as a boot-knife, reversed inside the back of the waistline, clipped to an inside vest or jacket pocket and just about anywhere else you would care to clip it to..

Lora,
Keep pumping in those fluids especially the chicken soup! I sure hope you feel better soon!!. and of coarse you can use my photo's. My pictures are your pictures!.

I gotta say that smooth bone is really classy. I'd carry that too. I may have to call Eddie about that.
