A story that I have to tell.

Are we talking peeling potatoes trouble or scrubbing the barracks with a toothbrush trouble?

"Failure to obey a lawfull order" trouble which could go anywhere from extra duty, to stockade, and dishonorable discharge depending on the other factors, like where and how was it found? If it was found out in a low profile way, that's how it likely would have been dealt with. If it was found in an incident where one person accidentially cut another while "horseplaying" or worse, the way in which the weight of the UCMJ descended on the knife owner would vary but likely make a loud squishing sound when it landed. ( UCMJ = Uniform Code of Military Justice = the book of laws governing disciplinary and criminal matters)

Im boot camp they like to scare you but if they can, they will do their very best to try to salvage you and make a soldier out of you. It benefits no one to just trash someone and send them packing. I'm not talking about just in a time of war, but at all times. The drill sgt. position is a very difficult one, and typically some of the very best end up in the job. While a boot, you may not exactly feel that way about them, but with knowledge and hindsight you tend to appreciate what they accomplish as part of their jobs. Joe

Whoah buddy! i really enjoyed the stoy but this got out of hand fast!
one of the guys in my unit was given a custom 4" fixed blade by his uncle before basic and he never had an issue..... someone either realized he was responsible or it was a MAJOR oversite.

Great story.

You can tell that I'm a knife enthusiast just by looking at the keys to my GMC; on them is an orange FRN Ladybug (which is a great knife) and a Buck Hartsook. You can't be small knives with nearly limitless utility!

HEY, langy is good people, thanks for the story langston. My baby sister wants a Ladybug, one of the older designs. I had one a couple of years ago, it was sold to me on eBay, listed as a Delica. Never did get a Delica from that guy.

I still carry an older red-handled Ladybug with combo edge on my keyring. It's a bit worn, the red handle is scarred, a bit faded, and shiny in some places, but it's still a great little knife. It's not used all the time, but is almost always there.

Of the two knives my wife has, one is a Ladybug which she just loves.
