That's sad news Charlie. I am always saddened reading this type of news. Have you a picture ofMark so we can identify our thoughts to his image?
Sad news.

Sorry to hear rhis. Did he have an account here?

Reguardless, condolences, and hopefully his family is doing ok.

My condolences to Mark's family and to those who knew him. Though he was quiet, it sounds as though he made quite an impact on a lot of you and that means a lot. Now he can talk to the designers of his beloved collection.

Oh My..I just got home where I can study those knives-Mark had very very good taste in knives - just supreme examples, amazing stuff.

Charlie-My very very best friend died on a Motor Bike ( my signature )and what I found an amazing experience was to just sit in his garage alone, and go through Gary's meticulously kept tool Boxes and imagine him and his plans while using his tools - seeing his projects and going through them very carefully and almost be there with him again in spirit as he was panning out his next move on how he was going to model his next Ferring on the Bike - I found cardboard cut-outs of his 3/4 built Ferring on his Ducati - and I took them out and was able to match the cutouts on the near finished Fibre-glassed project - it was a good thing, I guess what I am trying to say is I hope you get some of that when looking at his photos of his knives-OR maybe you are lucky enough to have one or two of his once owned knives where you can hold the knife and feel your friend oiling those joints, wiping it all over very carefully with a Mineral Oil cloth and placing it carefully in its place.

Very sorry to read of this loss :( Sincere condolences Charlie, to you and all Mark's friends and family

Condolences, recently I lost a good friend too, it always makes a gap that never closes completely. Autumn is coming...

This is sad news. I didn't know Mark well but did have the opportunity to purchase a Ruple stock knife from him years back.

To illustrate what kind of person he was...he offered me the knife very much below what the market for such a knife would command.

After doing a little research on the piece, I called him and told him that he was asking hundreds too little and I'd feel guilty if I didn't say so.

He said that he was comfortable with what he was offering it for and that a deal was a deal... but appreciated my concern.

We'd considered each other friends ever after. I even discussed the knife with Bill Ruple and showed him the knife at the Blade Show a while back. Bill had nothing but good to say about Mark.

Sad to hear of his passing. The knife community (and those associated with him) lost a good man. I'm happy to have walked a path with him if only for a short distance.

I didn't know Mr. Nagle but I'm sorry to hear he has passed. My condolences to his family and friends.

My condolences to your family, and to Mark's. Your post was a fitting tribute -- thank you for sharing it.

Always sad to hear when another good guy moves on to greener pastures.

Thoughts and prayers even though I wasn't personally acquainted.
