A TALE of RECOVERY!!

This morning as I was poking around in the forums on my computer, my wife walked into the room wrapped in a towel (she's so cute, even at 59 years old - sigh!) with a pair of my socks in her hand!
Bear with me - this is not pornography!
The socks were tucked one inside the other, so I don't go off with one blue sock, and one black one - yeah, it's happened!
She comes around into my field of view - yummy! ahem . . . . .and extracts a knife from within the socks!! Not just any knife, but a Tony Bose Wharncliffe Trapper!
Man, my heart leapt!! She needed some rugged socks today, so borrowed an old pair of mine which led to her discovery. She tucked the knife back in for dramatic effect, and dramatic it was.
As I was rushing off to catch a plane in early September for our vacation, I remembered the WT in my pocket, and not wanting to trust the airlines in any way, ran back in the house, and tucked it out of sight, in the most unlikely spot for a would be thief. And promptly forgot where. I also forgot to bring my cellphone.
I have torn the house apart many times, between bouts of depression looking for that darn knife! I finally broke my silence, and told Tony about it last weekend. Thing is, it's just a knife, but it's A) a T. Bose, and B) I carried that knife all the time! Except on vacation. Except for the last 3-4 months.
My life has changed! The sky is brighter, the birdsong is sweeter! (yes, they are still around, out here on the left coast!).
And my wife is beautiful . . . . .as always!!

Wow, that must have felt so good. Congrats on being reunited with an old friend :)

Great story. Congrats on being reunited with that fabulous Bose creation. I would have gone absolutely batsh!t if I'd lost something like that!

I'm on top of the world! I gave that knife a couple of passes on the ezelap, and cut everything in sight, just 'cause I could!
Several times a day I reach into my pocket and touch that knife like a talisman. It's amazing how much a foolish human can miss an inanimate object!!
Ken Coats Toothpick is in my other pocket, and, a worthy knife, is waiting its turn to be top dog for a day! It'll come, but not right now!!
