A thread made for ONE thing......

The cubes thing works. Last year I took Rick's advice and happening upon a massive jewel weed patch, I harvsted about 20 plants. The anti-urosil protein is apparently most concentrated in at the root/dirt juntion where the stem turns red. I took the plants home, mashed the stems and leaves using a blender with some boiled water. Froze the water in cubes. This spring, I had 2 trees in my yard that were getting some serious poison Ivy attention and my wife demanded I destroy them (wives.....SHEESH)......Anyhow, I unthawed 4 cubes in a bowl and lathered myhands and forearm up....then attachkd the poison ivy afflicting my domain. I didn't get any symptoms which I am prone to get....

Jewelweed
Touch-me-not Family
Impatiens capensis - Common names: Spotted touch-me-not. Jewelweed., or Orange touch-me-not
Plants 2 to 5 feet tall. Moist woods, brooksides, wet roadside ditches.
Used as a treatment for poison ivy. Crushed leaves are poulticed on recent poison ivy rash. Some people drink a tea made from the leaves as a poison ivy rash preventative.

Some species are annual plants and produce flowers from early summer until the first frost, while perennial species, found in milder climates, can flower all year. Regardless of their lifespan, the largest impatiens grow up to about 2 meters (c. 7 ft) tall, but most are less than half as tall. The leaves are entire and shiny; their upperside has a thick, water-repellent cuticula that gives them a greasy feel.

cited from a few online sources, check your local vegetation area for specifics to your region

I wouldn't count on and warn against drinking the tea as a preventative... it needs to be a localized topical treatment for rashes and prevention.

I got it bad one time. Right before we took the kids to Disney in Florida. The plus side was, we were first in a lot of lines, because people saw it & walked away. LOL

I have a bunch of kudzu in my backyard and I had the bright idea to run a roto-tiller through it to cut a the roots. What I didn't notice was the pi growing there too. After a couple runs the tines were covered and clogged ... I took my gloves of to cut everything loose... and well ended up covered!!!!
