A Time to be Thankful GAW - WINNERS SELECTED!! SEE POST #53

Brett, thanks for running a great GAW. I have so many blessings to be grateful for. The first that come to mind are:

-My wife, kids, parents, and siblings
-The health of my family and myself
-My friends (both in the real and virtual worlds)
-That I was fortunate enough to be born in the USA
-That I have found my vocation and never mind going to work

Not sure if I qualify as a traditional "regular" so may not merit an entry (no problem either way), but really dig the thread regardless - amongst the many things I am grateful for, I really appreciate how this place is an example of the ways in which the internet is *not* just where people go to check their integrity at the door!

Brett....how can I not enter this GAW since you're drawing the winners on my birthday!! Which brings me to what I'm most thankful for...making it another year! I drive alot, ride a motorcycle, spend a lot of time in the woods, shoot guns, play with knives, drink beer, etc, and I'm still here. I could walk out of the door tomorrow and get creamed but that hasn't happened yet so I'm thankful for being able to say that my time has not come....

I am grateful for my lovely wife of 41 years, my son and his family (including the two wonderful children they have been blessed with).
I am grateful for old work friends that have become my weekly hiking partners and are becoming closer friends.
I am grateful for good health after a bit of scare earlier this year.
I am grateful for my daughter-in-law's good health after many problems and on-going health challenges.
I am grateful to live in a country where I can practice my faith, speak freely and pursue happiness.
I am grateful for God who forgives.

I am grateful for the traditional forum and all the great folks here that have taught me so much this year.
May God richly bless each of you.
Thank you.

Thank you.
Thankfull for a happy healthy family

1st & foremost I am grateful for my up bringing. The man I call my father stepped up to the plate from day one & has never stepped out on me. If it wasn't for the man he was & still is I would not be where I am today.

2nd I am thankful for my wife. Over 7 years together & still going strong. After all you have to find the one that you can annoy the you know what out of & be a complete goof ball with. It's hard to stay mad at each other when within 3 minutes the both of you are laughing about something together & forget what it was that you were even made about to begin with.

3rd I'm thankful for those that I serviced with in the Marines & my Navy buddies. Once strangers, now forever brothers & friends.

Not an entry, there are others here much more worthy of winning than I am.
I'm thankful for waking up alive each day (so far, anyway), Also for the love of my family, and that I have a job.

Not an entry, just wanted to get this back to page one. ;)

Today I'm thankful for the time I get to spend with my family. A couple of years ago my wife and I decided that I was going to stop working 80+ hours a week and become a member of the family. At the time I had little to no relationship with my children. I was providing for them financially, but not taking care of them. Now, I'm a stay-at-home dad that does some freelance IT work to make a little extra here and there. This decision has lead to some financial crunches, but as a family we are much closer and happier.

I'm thankful for my parents. There were a couple stretches this last year where I wasn't sure my dad was going to make it. He's back on his feet and feeling as good as he has in years. I'm thankful for every day he gets to spend with my children.

I'm thankful for my house work. We recently moved into a larger house. It's an older house, so there's tons of work to do. I'm more than happy to do it.

In a more forumcentric sense I'm thankful for all of the knowledge that's shared here. I'm thankful for the members that have spent decades learning and researching that come here and share that information freely so that I don't have to put in the time. It makes the hobby infinitely more enjoyable for me that I get to reap the benefits of all that knowledge without putting in nearly as much work. It constantly amazes me to think of how hard it would be to amass this much information before the Internet was available. Instead of investing our time and money into research we can come here and learn about the knives quickly and freely. It's something that I think a lot of us take for granted far too often.

Thanks to each and every one of you that contributes to these forums.

I am thankful for my family and my girlfriend and everything I have been given in my life. I feel lucky every day just being alive and having the opportunity to make new friends in these forums and on fb groups each day that share my passion for knives. I am very in and thank you for the opportunity.

I'm thankful for my broken sense of positivity, and what little good it does me.

Not an entry, I'm not in the right mood.

Ok folks, I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving. I had to loosen a notch on my belt. And am about to work it off in the yard.

I decided to add two more knives to the pool. I hate having knives sit and these beauties need a good home.

To make this easy the first winner (#43 Jake) please contact Ron for your Case buddy. Congrats on the beauty and thank you Ron for the gesture.

I need the following people to pm/email me their shipping info. You guys have a mystery knife on the way. Here is all I ask, No thank you threads, Just enjoy it. If you don't like the knife, please, by all means do not keep it. Pay it forward until it finds it's home. No offense here if you want to pass it on.

Wow, thank you Bret and Ron. It has been a pleasure talking to both of you through PM's and meeting Ron in person at the Rendezvous. I've made sure to read every post in this thread and there were some very good reasons for all of us to be thankful. Congrats to the other winners!

Since I won on my birthday, I feel someone else deserves to win as well.
